So with the NHL now, I think betting will increase their TV numbers substantially

Who cares. I don't get the whole "GrOw ThE gAmE" crowd. It only benefits the owners and players in the form of more money, and worse yet more unnecessary expansion which further dilutes the schedule. As a fan it doesn't matter a lick. Personally I would rather it stay a niche sport

There's quite a few star players who wouldn't be playing, and quite a few fans here who wouldn't be fans, if it weren't for "growing the game". That latter category explicitly includes myself, incidentally.
