There's quite a few star players who wouldn't be playing, and quite a few fans here who wouldn't be fans, if it weren't for "growing the game". That latter category explicitly includes myself, incidentally.Who cares. I don't get the whole "GrOw ThE gAmE" crowd. It only benefits the owners and players in the form of more money, and worse yet more unnecessary expansion which further dilutes the schedule. As a fan it doesn't matter a lick. Personally I would rather it stay a niche sport
Not NFL-level lucrative.Bettman was hired to get the NHL a lucrative US TV deal.
