Do people actually enjoy How I Met Your Mother and The Big Bang Theory?

I just don't see how any adult can really watch this show and think something like that? A real life Barney Stinson would be rejected by nearly any woman he tries to talk to. He has no charisma.

Works 83% of the time.

I like The Big Bang Theory but it's definately run it's course.

The thing that kills The Big Bang Theory the most for me is that stupid laugh track.

I've actually watched a bit of the big bang theory, and it wasn't super funny, but I honestly can understand the appeal. Its got some charm.

Well that's just the thing, people usually DON'T agree on matters of taste. So when pretty much everyone agrees on something, that's a pretty strong endorsement.

I'm shaking my head because this thread should be in the entertainment forum not the lounge.

1st season of the big bang wasn't awful, but once it got over the cliched jokes, it went over the shark fast.

I avoided the Big Bang Theory like the plague for probably at least 4-5 years because I assumed it would be making fun of people like me (doctoral students in the sciences, who like comic books, D&D, etc and who are sometimes socially awkward because I (we) often are not up on the goings on in "real life" outside of the lab//library//campus, awkward af romantic life, etc, etc, etc)

Then I was forced to watch a few episodes and fell in love with it. It is not making fun of me. It is me

though I will admit that the laugh track is kinda stupid.

Never watched w/e the **** the other show is though.
