I remember people crying over this guy just like Caleb Jones and Ethan Bear. lolHe'll always have his -2 in 45 seconds of ice time as an Oiler.

Yup, and that's fine.I remember people crying over this guy just like Caleb Jones and Ethan Bear. lol
The difference is if you get the right "nothing" guy with our stars. Eg pat maroon playing with mcdavid.Nothing deals rarely have winners, they're nothing deals.
He basically won 2 playoff games for the team. Not exactly the same now is it?I remember people crying over this guy just like Caleb Jones and Ethan Bear. lol
They crushed it on this deal.Oilers rarely win these nothing deals. These are exactly the type of deals a good gm should win more often than not when you have the best offensive power in the league.
Are you actually questioning skill level? The difference is if you get the right "nothing" guy with our stars. Eg pat maroon playing with mcdavid.
Until klim I'd say that's about the last time we had a clear win on a trade for a forward.

Culturally speaking the attitude in much of the world would be who wants to be in the crazy western culture right now? I can't even adapt to the clusterf*** changes we're seeing in mores and values here. Most days I want to tap out of hearing the latest inanity.I think it's just a bluff. Who wants to live in Russia these days, whatever the pay in the KHL? Kostin is a useful player, but he's ultimately dispensible, like most guys in the bottom six. Will be interesting what Holland does. I guess McDavid, Draisaitl, RNH, Kane, Hyman, Ryan, maybe McLeod, and Holloway are locks. Foelege, Yamamotoro may get traded. Bjugstad and Janmark may be gone to. That's 4-5 players that may have to be replaced.
I came back to Canada from occupied Ukraine last summer. You are crazy to think these thoughts.Culturally speaking the attitude in much of the world would be who wants to be in the crazy western culture right now? How it would feel for people that come from completely different backgrounds to look around here and see the anomie and blown up value systems? Most of us can't even keep track and just avoid being cancelled every other day. Gotta wonder how a lot of events right now impact Russian or other players now. Certainly they all look at anybody from Ovechkin to Provorov and note that this place, beyond the smiles and short term support is enemy territory. Can't say more but theres a whole lot more than the surface. We're probably seeing the end of Russian picks for quite a while. The sheer scorn OV has had is every indication this is no longer a place for Russian players. It isn't my opinion, but its the reactionary opinion being expressed in NA.
Not entirely new either. Yakupov was totally out of his element in this culture. Like shocked by it. I would be too. Come from a traditional place that still practices religion, with societal values still in place and enter into this twilight zone and its all incomprehensible. For a lot of Euro players I wonder how much harder it is now to come over and not get blown over by the differences here and constant changes from one week to the next in what is deemed acceptable in our soup of the day made up value system.

You seem to have read something into my comments that isn't there. I can't expand on them here but could in pm if you are curious. If not, fine.I came back to Canada from occupied Ukraine last summer. You are crazy to think these thoughts.
Here come the twit comments. You need to get outside and touch grass or something....
I wouldn't say Foegele or yamamoto are turds. They're nhl players but Holland's weak spot is he has no concept of writing a value contract. The other side is it'll drive me nuts if we lose value players like Kostin, McLeod, or Janmark and turds like Foegele and Yams are still here getting far more pay.
Yamamoto in a top 6 spot is the epitome of a turd.I wouldn't say Foegele or yamamoto are turds. They're nhl players but Holland's weak spot is he has no concept of writing a value contract.
Yep, good post. The stark contrast in values and morals widens in a valley every week. Don't even get me started on the figure skating aspects either. Rage inducing.Culturally speaking the attitude in much of the world would be who wants to be in the crazy western culture right now? I am Canadian and Ukraine's not a third world country. But if we are talking crazy, Russia is the definition of it. Canada is not, even factoring the irritants you are talking about, which are pretty f***ing minor in the grand scheme of things. You can complain about woke culture all day--nobody will put you to jail or bomb the hell out of your neighborhood here.Yep, good post. It's one thing to flee your third world country in Ukraine for an economic opportunity. But at what cost? Are you OK with raising a family here? How about in a years time? Things to think about.
