Didn't even read the article... Just seems like the logical take.Mendes article says the same.
Safe to say nobody wants him.Is there actually anyone that want's Jon Gruden?
You might start the game, but the game will finish you.I'm going to start a drinking game based on every time JM says "I think".
Playing on his off-side could be an issue. This is the kind of thing that's complete bullshit
Chychrun has played 422 games in the NHL. He's had Tippett, Tocchet and Touring as coaches in Arizona with half his career under Tocchet who some here regard as some kind of genius coach. His Senators career is 49 games, 11 under Martin.
Do you really believe that playing 38 games under DJ Smith somehow deleted everything that Chychrun has learned about hockey? That his instinct for the game was completely wiped out?
Ah good old football chuckySafe to say nobody wants him.
John Gruden on the other hand.
With that bad joke out of the way, I can honestly say I'd never heard of him until like a week or two ago as a potential candidate.
Ya it is certainly surprising. I'm hoping it's muchado about nothing and just hearsay.Ah good old football chucky
Yeah I'm just in awe that he is apparently the number one candidate
I don’t think they are struggling with responsibility. I think they are struggling with consistency and details.I would agree with that if the kids weren't making $6-9 mil a year and being idolized all over the place.
Either they are kids who need guidance and help and should have their pay seriously capped until their mid 20s, or they are professionals that get the big bucks AND the big expectations and responsibility that goes with it.
You can't have your cake and eat it too in this world, no matter how much the kids today expect it.
Dumb comment.Trade the core then.

Watch us end up with Keefe in that scenario lol. With the leafs potentially struggling, maybe they are keeping him as a ‘just in case’ if they get rid of Keefe.
up to a limit. Habits are hard to break.. Mike Hoffman is king.Dumb comment.
It is far, far easier to teach defence and implement than teaching someone how to score. Give your head a shake
They fully understand that, hence the interim tag...How much longer will it take, for our Rookie GM, Rookie Owner and anyone else in management to realize that J Martin is not the answer, the team is playing worse in all aspects of the game, than they were under DJS.
No, I don’t think they should have kept DJS, or should they bring him back…. He is gone and forgotten
J Martin in NOT the long term solution, and our rookie GM need to turn this ship around asap.
Bring in the new head coach NOW, do not wait until the offseason…..
There's a tendency I suppose to look for a quick fix. So the ensuing process is to identify a scapegoat and the place the blame for the woes of the team on your favourite scapegoat. You'll hear in essence we have some talented players, so therefore we should be winning. It's harder to admit the problems are more widespread. It's a team game. The blend of players have to work together to play winning hockey. They'll need more than just talent. They fully understand that, hence the interim tag...
Andlauer and Staios knew this wasn't a good team, they essentially told us prior to the season this was a bad team
Sens had a cake walk start to the season, it only gets harder for a bad team moving forward, no coach is making a difference this year, it's a throwaway, and has been since the ownership was pushed until the start of the season.
A new coach is doing NOTHING, this is an atrociously built team from top to bottom

If our guy is available, absolutely hire him. Tocchet was available, and they grabbed him.The Vancouver Canucks were in the crapper, at this time last year, and instead of getting rid of the Head Coach and bringing in an interim Coach and waiting until the offseason….like our Rookie GM is doing….they brought in a new Head Coach, Rick Tocchet, almost exactly one year ago……
No he did not get them into the playoffs, and yes he was using the rest of the season to inspect under the hood of the team, on and off the ice, and they ended up finishing 3 points behind the Senators in the over all standings.
But, the time he spent with the team, in the second half of last season, set him up well to begin this season… and today, they sit 2nd overall in the NHL….. he most likely was in on the decisions that were made in the off-season changes to the roster… he would have been able to provide his insight to management if he was hired in the off season.
why is our rookie GM denying the new Head Coach the valuable time (the rest of this season) to see for himself the inner workings of the team, on and off the ice and be able to provide feedback to upper management in the offseason?
J Martin is NOT working, the team is worse in every category that matters…. Send him back upstairs and bring in the new head coach now, from the available candidates now, not in July.
