the hours are not exactly convenient for american audiences but if you're an "early bird" You might want to check out the women's world cup on fox. pretty good shit.

I turned it on partway through the 1st. Bad performance by the US except for a few individual efforts like maybe Smith and Ertz.

Sloppy, unstructured, "f*** it we can beat these gals with backyard shit" type of game.

Maybe it's confirmation bias but it seems like every Rapinoe play is a coin flip turnover. She's great for her aggressiveness and leadership but she tends to Kuzy it up with the speculative passes and shots.

And in general, what was with their shooting? Can anyone hit the net from point blank? Everything was going high. Nerves? Were they coached to shoot high on that keeper? Could've been 7-0 easily.

They'd better not play like that against 90% of the other teams in this tourney.

Rapinoe has looked iffy lately, even looked bad in the olympics in tokyo

hoping they play better because nothing is given to them anymore; it's earned. and the world is getting better.

MLS botched Messi’s debut. You had to be a subscriber to AppleTV and have MLS League Pass to watch that game. A great opportunity missed to make that game free for everyone but gotta make back some of that marketing budget promoting this game instead
i thought most of those games were on apple+ anyway. a few of them are on FOX but fox was airing the WWC.

USWNT better get their shit together fast because Germany look as good as any W team I've seen in a while, and that's not just because Morocco sucks.

I thought the US looked mostly fine. They weren’t sharp in their finishing but they dominated that game. They can’t rely on being bigger, faster, and stronger against every team but their size and speed smothered Vietnam.

Rapinoe was awful. At least two or three goals died on her foot. She had one shot attempt that was so bad that the announcer incorrectly praised her for being selfless and attempting a pass when in reality it was just a terrible play by Rapinoe. She’s a legend and will go down as one of the most important USWNT players ever both on and off the field but it looks very much like the game has passed her by.

As I posted after that game I thought they looked shaggy except for a few key players. Zero discipline or structure to my eye and a lot of really clunky, heavy touches....like they thought they could just go out and play backyard pickup and still win, which was true, but seems like a bad habit waiting to set in.

Agree on Rapinoe and she's been one of my favorites for a long time but she seems like someone who's been believing their own hype for a few years now. She's a gritty gamer who wins with tenacity but she has that Kuzy style "f*** it, I can pull this off" mentality way too much.

Yeah, f*** the USWNT. Whiny, ignorant, ungrateful narcissists.

Watching every other nation proudly represent their country is in such stark contrast to the utter f***ing embarrassment that is Rapinoe and Co.

Jordan Henderson signing to the Saudi league is kind of cringe-worthy given that he has been LGBT+ ambassador for years and was 2 years ago actively urging players not to sign for the Saudi league teams.

Guess they found out his price. Which is ~$900k per week.

Death kiss to his international career, i'd think.

Starting to wonder how many athletes are now broadcasting "I'll never jump to SA" as a way to make themselves targets for high bids from SA in order to publicly "flip" the opposition.

For sure they will.

Henderson certainly milked every possible penny out of them. His reported yearly salary is £36.4 million...which is propably around ~65% of his career earnings to date. Talk about a payday.

Alex Morgan is such a treat to watch -- so talented, so charismatic (not to mention "easy on the eyes"). The USWNT is going to have a hard time replacing her when she eventually calls it quits.

JUVENTUS HAD THEIR place in European competition this season removed by UEFA because of a false accounting case that had already taken the club out of Champions League qualification.

Juventus now lose their spot in the third-tier Europa Conference League that should go to Fiorentina in the playoffs round starting on Aug. 24.

UEFA said Friday that Juventus also must pay a fine of €10 million ($11m) for breaking Financial Fair Play rules. A further €10m ($11m) could be deducted if the club fails to comply with UEFA financial monitoring rules in future seasons.
