WJC: Disappointing uniforms!

Other countries are using their symbols, like Swedish use the Crowns, Canada has the Leaf, and Murica has just "USA" in it.. but Finland goes with the Finnish Hockey Federation thing. They have problably copied how Canada was using that hockey-player in their jersey earlier, which is solid excuse though. It kinda gives you permission to use something that is not from the official flags.

While our current WJC / WC jersey has the lion in it, and it is not bad in general, and it starts to have some tradition, I'd say we should go to the National coat of arms also outside Olympics and stay in it.

I don't think the dark shoulders look bad. Actually they look pretty good.


I wonder what kinda of Jersey they'll wear in World Cup. I think NHL world cup probably doesn't have any kind of restrictions for Logo being used, as IIHF probably has.

This is one of the better uniforms Canada has ever iced. Far better than their last two olympic sets.

Pretty dissapointed with Canadas jersey. They usually have a top 5 jersey, this year? not a fan at all.

I don't like how Canada always adds black to their uniforms. Canada's colors are red and white, they should accept it and go with it. You don't really see other countries adding extra colors to their uniforms.

Italy wears mostly blue. The Netherlands hockey team wears mostly orange. These colours don't appear in their flags. Slovenia has added a lot of bright green to their most recent hockey jersey, there is no green in their flag.

Hell no. Too many bad memories from the 80's of all those failures and disappointments. We've done better with the current jerseys.

I don't mind Canada's jerseys. I would lose the black helmets and use less black on the jerseys themselves. Black sells, though, I guess.

I actually really like some of the 80's Canada jersey's before the black was added. I have fond memories of just plain red/white combos with blue hockey pants. I think they looked stunning.

I also really like white helmets with red jersey and the Soviets red helmets with white jersey.

I think a cool throwback to the 1988 Olympic Jersey or the 87 Canada cup would be great.

Not sure why black has become such a mainstay in the colour choice.

Actually at the origine the neederlands flag (prince's flag) when the prince of Orange led the revolution against the spanish was orange-white-blue.
For the italian, blue is the colour of the royal family. At the beginning they always played in white but changed once to blue to honor the royal family. What was supposed to be an occasionnal change became their primary colour.

The Olympic jerseys, particularly the 3rd, got unpleasant comparisons. I can't even see the starting point for the regular, or 2015 juniors jerseys.

Another thing that's wrong with the uniform, I agree. What I would love to see is a Detroit Red Wing colour scheme with RED pants and matching helmets, gloves. Not a bad look at all, especially with a big Maple leaf on it

IMO, black has ruined every single Team Canada sweater its been a part of. No logical or historical reason for its inclusion. They only started using it cause it became an unwritten rule recently that in order to be cool you need the color black in your jerseys.

They need to go back to the old red and white and nothing else.

Hockey Canada, the organization, utilizes a tri-colour maple leaf logo, hence the inclusion of black in the uniforms imo.

And when did that start? It sure wasn't always like that. I contend that that practice didn't start until the last 15 years or so when it became "cool" to add black to your colors.
