I do not care what anyone say about the format and the credibility of that tournament, to me this was some of the best hockey I have ever seen being played -- and I believe for almost a whole week right there, we witnessed the Golden Era of American hockey.

They dropped the gloves all the way to a convincing round robin win to Canada -- to inflict Sidney Crosby first lose on an international scene in more than a decade. They played a dominant game and some of the most defensively sound hockey there is.

I think for a whole week there, we witnessed the peak of USA Hockey.

This is such a lame thread and should be closed. These teams are very clearly dead even and both games could've gone either way.

It's cool to have fun in these and not feel the need to spit on the other team's graves and just enjoy good hockey. Dork.

I don't mean any offence but I've found Americans tend to really overreact to when they beat Canada in rather meaningless group stages of tournaments, the same thing happened in 2010 Olympics, US beat Canada I believe it was 5-2 or 5-3, and then Canada wins the game that matters. Feels like this has happened so many times and it's why that 3-1 loss never really phased me.

Canada once again proves to be too much at the highest level with our best players.
