who cares...add a guy that can't stick with a team that is need of scoring? because he will magically find a scoring touch in LA? nonsense guys ...we need significant change
Sleep... now...Ok, the universe I think I'm in, or the one I remember being in anyway, is the one where Lombardi traded Zykov, and the one where Zykov has 0 goals this year. Where am I right now? Did I hit a worm hole? Is this some Dark City type deal? What's going on?
What's the downside? No one can score and we're in last place.
Might as well take a swing at a free asset with a good attitude that the organization is familiar with that has upside and has at least shown a hint of that potential at the NHL level especially while we have waiver-exempt players and injuries in Hagelin and Lewis. He fails, oh well, waive him. He succeeds, great. There was literally zero risk, high reward. We weren't going to **** up the next 30 days because of Zykov.
44 out of 50 contracts are filled. There was no reason not to take a chance. I finally believe Blake needs to go and Luc as well.None, but they also have their own guys they've been giving time to(insert Clifford joke here). No more former Kings in the front office, but let's give another failed prospect from the previous GM a chance? I have no issue had they plucked him off the wire, but he's almost closer to 24 than to turning 23, has 0 goals in 13 games, and was just waived. Seems like he's the kind of prospect people usually dismiss.
Sure, a better team than the Kings just gave him a chance. Totally agree that there would've been no downside to taking him. It's just, how does a guy with 0 goals help a team score?

Worst case scenario, Zykov lights it up, Edmonton still stucks and they end up with Hughes.Who cares, clearly the Kings had already moved on from him. Best case scenario, he lights it up for Edmonton and they beat us and it helps us land Hughes. Worst case scenario is pretty much exactly the same as the best case scenario.

Why not, this team had nothing to lose. The roster is in shambles and the season is a disaster.Either that or fire Blake and Luc,something has to be done.Agreed on the no reason not to. At the same time, other than "why not?", was there a pressing reason to take him?
It's just mismanaged.I wonder why la didnt see a fit, weird.
How does waiver priority work? If we claim zykov do we drop to the back of the list for the next group waived, or would we still have first dibs even if we had claimed today? Perhaps we think someone better is going to be demoted soon.
This Hughes rally cry is cute but doesnt solve the teams issues.Theres no guarantee Hughes goes to the Kings. The organization needs to improve the team period, even by taking a chance on Zykov.Just cause Kings traded a asset for another asset to improve depth for a potential playoff run doesnt main Zykov was garbage.Right now the Kings are a total cluster dumpster fire from the VP of operations to the players. This team needs help in all areas.Taking a chance on Zykov wouldve been a good choice, but Blake and Luc got their own thing going on.Who cares, clearly the Kings had already moved on from him. I haven’t seen this much anger since Yanick Lehoux was claimed off of waivers by the Coyotes.

Lack of NHL ready wingers in the organization in this age range.
They have developing players sitting on < 8 minutes a game in the NHL as opposed to getting more AHL time?
