Now that he isn't the strict faceoff guy getting way more icetime than he warrants, he hasn't been that bad. He does what you ultimately want out of a 4th line center.

I really liked Mercer centering for Zetterlund and Holtz. Liked all of our lines tonight, even with Palat out. It’s good to play Bratt and Hughes together as the opposition can’t concentrate on either of them exclusively.

Detroit’s fans can’t be happy with the effort they saw tonight. Once we got up, they really seemed to quit. More or less like we did last night.
