There was a pizza joint in Calgary called Awesome Pizza,
They had a gimmick where they made massive individual pizzas . It was so big they had to tilt it to get through your door when delivering. I’m pretty sure I still have a picture of buddy laying inside the empty pizza box. It was big enough a grown man can curl up and fit insode the box ( of course not with the kid closed but still … it was massive )We’d get all slit eyed smoking left handed cigarettes and order it. Became a ritual that the first guy knocked out playing the board game Risk , had to be the guy to lay in the empty pizza box and have his picture taken lol.

Used to visit a friend out there. I remember ordering in that cheap pizza but I thought their wings were decent for cheap.

We have some good ones up this way too. Some good places in the Hartford area, but nothing matches good New Haven apizza. I've literally taken days off work just to take a trip to New Haven for a pie from Sally's or Modern.

OG Frank Pepe's is decent, but the franchise locations around the state are clearly inferior.

All this talk of pizza, my wife and I went to Lawrence, KS today and finally found a place that makes awesome NJ (I will not say NY) style pizza and calzones.

I try to avoid those places, being from Jersey and a pizza snob. Sometimes those places are acceptable when you’re living in Florida or some other place far away. I have found a good place by me though. It’s about 25 minutes from me and only 10 minutes from where I work.

But as far as chains go?

I’d say either Domino’s or Papa John’s for me. They’re one and two.

Pizza Hut is probably third.

I had Little Caesar’s back in the 90’s and thought it was okay, but I had it last probably in about 2010 or so, maybe it was around when I moved here in 2011. My friend ordered some for his family. Apparently they eat it frequently. I thought it sucked then, but I remembered it not being bad in the 90’s.

In the 90’s I would have had it over Pizza Hut, but that most recent time. Which is still over 10 years ago.

Local Pizza in Jersey sounds nice. Sadly in my time in Alberta its either the chains or some plain tasting local place that also sells donairs/gyros.

On the + side its the best place to get a burger, pierogi, or Cabbage roll.

We're #1 in both 5v5 and AS xGF/60 and xGA/60. It isn't that close for any of them. 5v5 it's 3.82 for and next is 3.34. 1.66 against and next is 1.88. AS it's 4.05 for and next is 3.9. Against is 2.18 and next is 2.5.

Lots of great places around Monmouth county. You got Feds in Freehold and Belmar which are my favorites. Pete n Eldas (carmines) in Neptune. Del Ponte in Ocean Grove.

Chain pizza is pretty good imo.

It's not near as good as a true NJ/NY Italian ran pizza shop, but chain pizza isn't bad.

That is a testament to how good pizza is as a food unto itself, more than to any of the chains doing something that deserves praise.

Pizza 73 is way too hit and miss. It has gone down hill lately.

Also the most primary pts, most 5v5 pts, most 5v5 primary pts with 3 more than the next closest. 2nd in CF% among forwards. 2nd in xGF% (if you exclude other Devils and 5th over), 5th in SCF% (if you exclude other Devils and 9th overall). He's been the best player on the team this year (very very arguably in the league so far) and it isn't even remotely a competition.
