Bratts got the lowest time on ice of any of the forward both total AND even strength. The guy is literally tied for second in the entire f'ing league and plays 2 mins less than Bastian and McLeod through 40 mins. Unreal.

holtz had two good breakout passes on the previous shifts before that (Mercer's 2 on 1 chance and Hamilton's chance after that), that penalty was on Mcleod as well for grenade handling the puck instead of getting it deep

He's been fine and made a few good plays.

Hard to be mad at the kid when he doesn't get the chance to build chemistry with anyone on a regular basis. Kid has about 10 NHL games under his belt. Takes a little more than that to get acclimated and star clicking.

At least how the Devils/Ruff want to play. If he's not a PP shooter even then where does he fit? Part of building a team is understanding what talent just isn't right for your organization and I worry we're headed for a Ty Smithesque year where his trade value gets murdered.

Yep. Mikey needed to get that deep when he crossed centre. He hesitated, turned it over, and Holtz was in a bad spot trying to go for a change.

A big part of that goal is how the goalie can’t see Hughes when he makes the pass.

Bodies in front of the net work. Usually it’s someone more skilled but we don’t have that.

Feels weird, but Holtz has played in 12 (!!!) NHL games. That's not a lot. He has time.

I wish they'd stick with him and give him a proper opportunity to build chemistry and get acclimated.
