Wait we're seriously getting on Ruff for not putting NOGOALqivst in the shootout? Dude has five goals in 41 games, unless you have some biometric knowledge that he has Jacob Josefson effectiveness in the shootout that's like fifty-seventh on the list of things to rip Ruff on.

We still have a game in hand on them, so it's not quite as close as it looks.
In ”baseball” terms, they are 1.5 games back of Carolina. They are 2 games up on the Rangers. It is a tight race and the sooner Jack is back / or a trade is made the better.

I can't remember what his shootout percentage is, but he did score a few goals in the shootout (or at least a couple) in 19-20.

I can't remember if he even went in any of the last 2 years, but he probably didn't.

Somebody else can look that up, I never know where to find the shootout stats.

Offensively, he's disappointed me the most.
Yeah I really thought he was gonna take a step this year along with the rest of the kids. He's still a good defensive forward and fine for a middle-6 guy, but I think he still has another gear. I just wonder if we'll see it in a Devils sweater.

Look - I’m not all panicky because they lost a shootout on the road but this team does look like they need a trade to shake things up a bit.

Too much nothing going on. No spark.
To me , I’d be a little deflated as a player if they dont add anyone. Our guys see otherteams are loading up.
Adding Meier would be huge for a ton of reasons .Gettimg a shot of confidence being a big one.
Adding a 40+ goal scorer would pump up everyone and helps us think we can crush anyone. Like nkw we were playing with swagger while on our 13 game streak.

Not that I give one iota of a shit about shootout results these days but Tatar was 2 for 5 last year in the shootout with both goals coming in the leadoff position. He was 1 for 2 going into this one with the one goal in the last one, also coming from the leadoff spot.

Don’t see how you don’t go with him again on top of going with Bratt second.

Jeez, this was a pretty nasty, low event game. That happens. I liked more than I did not like.

Johnny Boquest was a puck hound. Mercer made good decisions with little space. Tatar was skilled AND tough. Sir Douglas had a great defensive game. Marino, Sevo... then some blah from Mikey, Siegs and Bratt (just settle for 8 and get going). You are not 9m...

Haula and wood are just doofusus. Shara, you gotta convert because I like you but it's getting annoying.

Nick has me the most worried because he does not look like peak Nico at all... he has to be injured. His board work is usually some of the best on the team. His escapability looks meh. His skating is not separating. He barely shoots. Zone entries seem slow. I am grading him harshly because he was dynamic on both ends for stretch earlier this year.

He definitely has the makings of a 30 goal scorer, for whatever reason it's not happening this year.

I can only find them by year and sort by team - 2 for 3 in '19-20 to be exact...0-2 the next year and not an attempt last year. So his last shootout goal was basically three years ago at least.

The NJD very historically don't play well in Minny. The ghost of JP Parise keeps the land protected, despite some fluke wins there like Cory's relief win and that other OT win up there in 2017.

Bad news is that the NJD don't play well in Columbus ever. Get ready to hear nothing but that cannon on Tuesday night. Just prepare yourself for it.

YUGE win by the Rags tonight in Rawly. How impressive is that? Walking into that building with Halak and beating Rawly. Just goes to show you how strong that Rags team is.

And then the Craps with a very impressive victory in BAHSTON today. Something the NJD haven't done in years, other than when no fans were in the building to witness it. They'll beat the San Jose Sharts tomorrow as well and be right on our backs before you know it.

And we're very lucky with some very rare losses today by all of NYb, BUF and FLA.

They were the clear 1-2, unless you wanted to go with Dougie since he's had the hot stick lately and I don't know what his shootout career numbers are. They never even got to 3 so who knows who they had there, maybe Nico.

Bratt cannot be paid more than Jack. He just can't. It doesn't matter that Jack is the best contract in the league.

We can't have $15M+ between him and Nico not producing when we need it most. And not even just not producing, but hardly driving the play and presenting as threats.

I fear what we are seeing if what is going to happen in the playoffs when teams double up and try their best to shut Jack down. Two guys, who should be producing, doing jack (pun intended) shit.
