Luke is going to be an absolute stud. Can’t wait to see what he does next season and beyond. For his first game straight out of college, he showed well.

Luke was good. He got deked early on, but settled in and played responsibly. Had the one really nice play in the third to setup Tatar.

You could tell he was really just trying to be safe. He has absolutely zero issue with the pace of the game.

Was impressed how he didn’t panic when the Sabres were forechecking. Was expecting a few turnovers but he was solid in that aspect.

Bratt was frustratingly mercurial tonight, but at least he beat the icing and got Jack the puck for the ENG when it counted.

That line should have had 3 goals tonight.

Yeah he was definitely playing it safe. I imagine this is far from the type of game we’ll see from him next year. It sucked we couldn’t get more of him fully unleashed. I think that’s partially due to him intentionally playing safer and partially because the team as a whole got f*** all going for 2 periods

I mean, he's not. It's clearly McDavid.

But Hughes has a solid case for being second best this season, and I'll happily take that.

He's still our MVP regardless what anyone else is doing in other teams. The fact that Sabres fans have a problem with our fans showing support to our players tells more about them.

Really hope we can rest a guy here and there on Thursday v the Caps, maybe Bahl tbh so he can rest for a Rags series. 12-6 should be the move but we'll prob get 11-7 again

If we lost in OT I think we for sure probably go back to 12-6 and they give Luke more rope since we’d have been locked into 2nd. With 1st still on the line I doubt guys are getting rested

I don't know what's gotten into Miles Wood but if we get THAT version in the playoffs, I'm here for it.

BTW, whomever in HFBoards attended this game, with all the chances that were either saved or just missed for Jack's 97th point (up till the final moments), I'm sure you were feeling a bit bittersweet about things....

....and then Jesper Bratt finally said "You know what? Here, Jack. *YOU* shoot the puck this time."

So, Luke playing Thursday with guys getting rested? Hope so.
If the team thinks that there is a chance of Luke making an impact in the playoffs, then they should.

I know potentially winning the Division carries weight, but does playing Hughes really hurt our chances?
