The only line that looked good was the Kid line. Othmann has his good moments and bad moments. Blais I think looked pretty mediocre, but if anyone deserves some slack its him.

I wonder if this was Othmann's last game... when Gallant put him out there with Kreider and ZIbby in the 3rd, it seemed like his way of encouraging the kid before sending him back to juniors. We'll see.

All in all, a pretty hard game to watch aside from the kid line and shorthanded.

I was annoyed at Fox for taking the shot and not passing to Kakko on the 6-5. But the replay showed that while Kakko had space he was not set up in a spot where his shot would have gotten through. Kakko can set up for an open one timer all he wants, but Fox isn't going to feed him if it's got like no shot of getting through. Kakko needs to work on that positioning. In general, he's likely too stationary on the PP. He's got great vision and a great shot, but if he's too stationary, the whole PP is too easy to defend. Ultimately laffy is the better option to be over there because he's so much more active.

Oh I think Jones is NHL ready and he'll be great.

But the next man up if anyone goes down is... Hajek

I guess I am under the impression that no matter how poor Hajek looks, he is starting in the top 6

Similarly for some of the forwards, yet I digress.

More points than Kakko or Laf this season, deal?
Ah so to Calder predictions and the legendary stuff are out the window.

OK, if he outscores both of them in points (reg season), where am I sending $50?

And here's the other side. If he doesn't then until the beginning of the next season (so that includes this year's playoffs) you don't start ANY threads. This way I can put you on ignore and everyone else can be "entertained".

I don't think this is true.

We haven't seen Hajek skate with Schenider in game (I'm sure we'll get a look at this over the next 3) where as Jones will play with him again tomorrow and has taken the majority of practice reps with him since day 2.

I wanted to say this. Hajek has been paired with minor leaguers in these games. Point is, Hajek is not as bad as might've shown so far.

Yeah and he got caved tonight.

As did everyone who wasn't Fox and the kid line. They need to find a workable solution to pair with Kreider-Mika or split the 2 of them... which is going to be tough because the Kid line has basically eaten up their competition since they were put together.

Kreider-Trocheck may be interesting though.

Okay, yet I'm just going to expect Hajek to play in game 1.

Or game 2 should Jones make any single poor play.

Going to need to scour the waiver market for a 7th and send Hajek to Siberia.

Not the worst situation since someone usually does waive a decent NHL defender before the season. Remember, we picked up Anton Stralman after he was released from a PTO and he turned out amazing.

Just need to find the right guy.

Kreider-Trocheck should be a thing. Blais does not look like a fit for K-Z.
