Eh. We have 19 wins in 24 games. Gonna lose a few more games this year. It happens.
The thing is, I was going to start defending the decision-making down the stretch and I decided against it - that's because it doesn't matter. When you get a PP up a goal with less than 3 minutes to play, you're a 95% favorite no matter what you do. There's no optimal play here, and sometimes the one in twenty shot hits and you lose.
Exactly. Not a criticism after the month he had, but VV could have been better.
Also the fact that it was a loss against Hynes of all people....Yeah, have to agree. We all saw Haula turn down a near-breakaway chance with the PP and we'd be lying if we didnt say to ourselves-- "dang, go for that". But wasting that and all those other opportunities resulted in the Preds getting *just one rush* with 15 sec left. That's 99.99% chance of a point and >>>95% chance of a win. It's difficult to say that the strategy didnt play out the way it was designed to that point.
That being said, as much as Im telling myself we got a point and there's 50 games to focus on---I need to face the fact that I am going to have a pit in my stomach until Saturday at 7PM. I just am.
Of course it’s crazy for me to be complaining about anything we are doing this fall, given our record. But I will be happy to see us stop spotting other clubs 2 goal leads in the opening period. Toronto, the Rangers and tonight. That’s three times in the last 5 games and we have lost two.I am disappointed.
I don't know what else to say.
I mean the only silver linings in this game was Bratt scoring and at least salvaging a point by getting it to OT.
This is the first time that VV had seemed ordinary.
It sucks because the Devils had the lead after 2 despite all that.
Also, once again the Devils had another slow start and I'm wondering now if opposing teams are getting the blueprint on how to beat them in this way?
bah.
Whatever.
Onto the next game, I guess.
nothing more to say.
Who is to blame for that anyway?Well back from the game. That was a really stupid last shifts both the tie up shift and the OT shift.
Move on. Take the loser point, but this team should feel like idiots.
Thank God you shifted @Bleedred 's ire somewhere else.Oh my God that's horrendous
Who is to blame for that anyway?
Is it the players? The Coach?
I mean not using Hughes in OT falls on the Coach, obviously.
But what about the Tie-up shift?
It seemed to be a Gong-show of events that led to this.
I still just cannot believe that THIS TEAM that should've skated circles around this Preds team did not get two points over them.
Unbelievable....sigh.
Now we got to wait awhile until the next game...meh.
"puck lucky", eh?I would say players on the tie up shift and in OT, but Preds were somewhat puck lucky in that last tie up shift.
Again i am going from live view so it maybe all fogged, but OT seemed like a bunch of stupid mishandles /bounces and that was it. Guys were puckwatching and Coverage was blown somehow and a guy had a shot in front and got an easy lane to shoot.
I wouldnt blame ruff too much. Nico and Rango make a good duo in PK so it isnt as if they have 0 chemistry.
Players were flat out bad in 1st period too.
Couldnt reas the whole thread yet, but any word on Wood? He wasnt traded was he?
