How bad is Jersey? We've mailed in 15 minutes and they haven't taken advantage

You believe Hockey IQ can be learned when you reach the NHL? Is Chytil the only one in the cited list that this applies to?
Yes, it can be. Some players can learn it quicker than others. Some players don’t learn it at all, but I think most can. It applies to (edit: almost) everyone.

It’s like school. Some people are born smart and don’t have to study. Some people have to study and work hard to get good grades. And some people get poor grades even though they study.

Yes? A big part of it is knowing what you can and can't do and not ignoring that. This is why veterans are so often favored by coaches. Staal 'learned' he can't stay up at the blueline because he lacks footspeed and would get blown by. ADA learned he needs to look to rotate back after his pinches after he got benched.

This is also why people have less patience with vets who f*** up, because in a literal sense they *should* know better. I think most players are constantly learning or at least re-learning.

No. Not true. DeAngelo’s IQ has improved significantly. I always loved him, but I was worried about his below average hockey IQ. And now I’m not worried:)

So, Shattenkirk was incapable of learning hockey IQ? ADA can learn it? Vesey can't? Chytil can?

This is bizarre thinking to me. How do you determine who will or won't learn it or your evaluation in retrospect determines it?
