Someone mentioned Kastelic as a possible 4th line trade idea with BOS. I don't remember much about him from Ottawa days, sort of just a guy there but he's definitely the Fitz M.O. of big, mid-20s and with team control.

I know Jake Evans is the dude here for most people but I don't know, seemed like an intriguing idea.

Would love Jake Evans as a 4C. He'd fit this team like a glove. Really doubt MTL let's him go though.

He makes a lot of sense for us. RFA next year, not sure if Boston would want to keep him around or take get a pick/prospect.

I think Kastelic is probably the best fit - if they're not looking for a veteran rental.

Kastelic is 25, on a cheap deal, he's physical and has some some (very) minor scoring pop. That's a pretty rare commodity around the league for someone who isn't a core guy. Only knock is that he's arbitration eligible at the end of the season, so if he does well his price will rise.

The team is better this year, no doubt about it. A couple tweaks after the All-Star break and we could be a tough team to beat in the playoffs.

I never like seeing a packed house get shut out over the holidays, especially when your team rolls out those nontraditional black uniforms, tickets should be noted ahead of time and discounted on those nights. Sorry for those who own them, just my opinion.

Strange the team practices today
Probably only because it’s a travel day for the game out of town tomorrow.

I bet they would have had off if tomorrow were a home game.

Most teams do have practices on Thanksgiving. It’s not a mandated day off. It isn’t even a holiday today for the Canadian teams. They normally have a game or two on Thanksgiving and it’s always hosted by Canadian teams. Today there’s no games for some reason.

The Rangers and maybe even some other teams bring footballs out for their Thanksgiving day practice. That’s some kind of tradition of theirs.

We definitely will need to add a piece or two up front.

At the end of the day, Cotter is clearly suited for a bottom 6 role and realistically Noesen as well. Mercer you hope can step up at some point but other than that we have a hole in the top 6.

Probably need a 4th line addition too, hope to get healthy but could have injuries late in the year. Our depth in Utica up front is pretty weak.

MacDermid will probably play against Washington. But sending Foote down has nothing to do with MacDermid in general.
