And for what its worth, reddit is usually the source where someone bitches about players, they are all defending Jack there and some folks casting blame on the person who posted that.

Also if Jack was being nice and smiling to kids, then he did his moral duty.

An adult fan is whiny about a player because they weren’t enthusiast enough while talking to them at a free event? Whatever. Grow up.

Fat 17 year olds writing on puck bunny blogs that Jack Hughes didn't smile at them is embarrassing enough on twitter, I'm baffled that it made its way here.

I never cared for professional athletes. I have never seen them as role models, except for the ones who are obviously good people and aren’t afraid to show it and give back to the community. (Like Greene, Zajac, Elias, etc) The majority aren’t like that and that’s OK. What’s not ok is expecting them to be a certain type of people.

Never understood how people idolize and worship famous people. I will cheer them on doing their job, but I couldn’t care less about them unless they are the few who make it a point to be a good and humble person. Thats why I never go to these autograph signings. I honestly couldn’t care less. Just don’t be a POS like MM.

Looking at pending UFA's there aren't many top 6 forwards that could be good fits as rentals. Vatrano is a guy that stands out, but not quite sure he would be a great fit with Jack and Bratt.

If Bruins are making changes, I wouldn't mind Frederic as a bottom 6 option. Think we could use 2 additions to our forward group (1 top 6, 1 bottom 6).

Having met many pro athletes over the years and bringing my kids to numerous signing days I could care less how they interacted with me. As an adult I would never ask for an autograph. I have had some fun interactions but I found that you have to say something they find amusing and surprising. My favorite was when we met Marwues Colston the former New Orleams Saints player. He was a student at Hofstra when drafted. We went to the rookie signing and when it was our turn my son stepped up with his photo to have it signed. While Colston was signing I said “It’s a shame you weren’t drafted by the Jets”. He looks at me and I say “think how easy it would have been. All you would have had to do is move your bag across the locker room”. (Jets practiced at Hofstra then). He laughed and posed for a nice photo with my oldest.

At this point most of the players are young enough to be my kids. So I don't get off on meeting them. I went to the glass during warmups on Thursday during the second Panthers game, just because it had been so long since I did that. I got pictures of Tatar and Nico right up against me. I felt a bit odd because the only people down there that were nearly as old as my friend and I were down there with their kids.

If I saw Jack Hughes on the street I'd probably say hi to him and keep walking by. I got enough video of him in warmups during games I've went to. I don't need to take a video of him walking around on the street. Him shooting pucks on the ice and skating around is a lot cooler.

And I definitely don't need to get a picture with him. I really don't need a way younger, good looking guy standing next to me to make me look worse.

I do have a selfie of me and one of my favorite musicians, which is really cool. Not many people get to meet their favorite musicians. He was really nice and I felt like a fangirl meeting him. I seen him walking down a street before a gig outside the club he was playing at that night. I called out to him before he crossed the street and he turned right around and ran towards me to meet me. My friends actually know him and some have played with him before, but he had no idea of my connection to them when we met, so he was genuinely nice. Not because ''This guy knows so and so, so I better be nice to him because he's a friend of friends!''.

In my world he's a god, but he's hardly even famous. He can probably walk into a restaurant in my town and there's a 90% chance that no one would even know who the hell he is.

I would take pictures with someone like Chico or Dano. They’re both a lot older than I am and they’re guys who played when I was a kid. Or at least the first half of Dano’s career I was a kid.

I’d feel a little weird taking pics with or getting autographs from the active players, just because of the age difference and the fact they’re all so much younger than me. Unless I had kids and we all got our picture taken together with Jack or Nico or whoever.

I don’t think it’s weird if there’s 40, 50, 60-something year old people who want to get pics or autographs with the current players. It’s just how I personally feel about it. If there’s people who are middle aged or seniors who really wanna get their picture taken with Jack Hughes I certainly wouldn’t ridicule them for that. I just a feel a different way about myself in regards to that.

Yup, the old coach is 90 years young.
For some reason I had him closer to 95. He was already old when I first found out who he was. But it’s only been 5 years this month since he was last on TV, so now that I think about it 90 seems about right.

I wasn’t exposed to him much as a kid, probably because I’m not Canadian, so I didn’t get him on TV. And his coaching career was already over by the time I got into hockey.

He's a nice guy off the ice/TV. One think I learned early on, and you might like this one, he didn't really like goalies.

He was a Hell of team player his years in Rochester. Protected his teammates like they were his own kids.

Knew the game and explained it simply and clearly to those he coached.

Also, let's not forget the fact that these guys get barraged by older adults who stuff pens and markers in their face for autographs that they can sell on Ebay for a markup price. The interactions with kids probably are way more sincere whenever they have them. All you have to do is tell them that it's awesome having them on the team + get your shit signed and leave lol.

i agree and disagree with this and in general with everyones take defending jack. its good he was nice to kids but kids do grow up to be fans and spend money and time on the team so you really can't just say good to be nice to the kids and then screw the adults that are actually paying. me personally i'm not into the signing and all that stuff but hey some fans are who am i to judge how they want to spend their time and money? the least that jack could do is act like he wants to be there and appreciate people taking time out of their lives to support him and the team. not saying you have to be buddies or chatty but at least be respectful. i wasn't there so i don't know what happened but if its true how the person described it? then that to me is pretty messed up. i agree these guys dont owe you anything outside of a team event like their own personal time but i'm sure this being a team event hes contracted to be there. so represent the team better at least act like you care and want to be there. everyone talks about wanting to grow the game and bring in new fans right?

Apparently the Hughes brothers make up like 97% of the hockey discourse and gifs over there.

There's a reason Jack keeps a very quiet social media presence other than some offseason photo dumps on Instagram. He's always known the kind of pull he has and he doesn't want to see any of it.

If I used TikTok in a way that wasn't just watching stuff my wife sends me, maybe I'd see some talk about this. It'd be sandwiched between highlights and teenage and 20something girls thirsting over him, though.

i agree with you if its "off hours" then say F em dont sign be rude thats fine. but team events that have restrictions on what people can bring to sign and all that just act like you want to be there.

i agree with all this its all personal preference. its like adults going to disney without kids. me personally i wouldn't be doing that but if they want to do it and enjoy it be my guest. just to me if people are going to take the time to be there then the players should take the time to at minimum put on a face that they want to be there too. i dont think thats asking too much
