I prefer they don't do much with the D next season. Find a replacement for PK, hopefully better then him, and let Smith and company battle for the 3LD spot. Maybe sign someone better then Jaros to rotate as the 7th.
Agree, get a solid, conservatively styled RD and then have that guy shepherd in whoever wins the LD battle.

That #3 LD might prove to be a weak spot, but a)it's a third pair, it can be sheltered, b)it's not going to ruin our chances of winning the cup next year and c) as an extension of b) we are still in a position where we are letting young players find their way.

Plus with 3 guys vying for the spot, the odds are a little better one of them steps up.

Subtracting so much production is bad, you’re making you team a lot worse to make an addition. We wouldn’t get that much better.

The hope is to make trades like the Buchnevich one. Or even trading someone like Holtz, where his production is unknown. Subtracting a key young player is the last move you should make.

The the only possible scenario were Bratt should only go is if the contract negotiations go very badly but I doubt that happens. He’s an unsigned RFA, his contract situation hurts his trade value.

I can’t wait until Calgary finally locks up Tkachuk so I don’t have to hear about him anymore.

The team seemed to have a lot more fun this year then the past few. I feel as though our locker room is really starting to come together

Unfortunate PK cant stick around because clearly hes been a big part of that; but its probably for the best
PK would have to take a really low-ball deal to remain.

And that's if Fitz even wants him back.

What was the asking price for Vlad Tarasenko this past offseason? Dude rebounded from injuries to post a new career high in points (78 so far). 33 goals as well. He would have been a nice add.

That is the million dollar question. Maybe it was a 1st rounder? Maybe it was Mercer?

Obviously it was beyond what teams, not just us, were willing to give up.

Hopefully Daws and Greer can help save Utica, they've clinched a playoff spot but have lost 6 of their last 7 and have only won 8 out of 20 games played since March 1st. I don't think that will be enough though.

He was almost free, he was unprotected at the expansion draft, St. Louis just didn't want to retain or add a sweetener.

No one was going to trade for a $7.5 million question mark without either retention or a sweetener. It worked out for St. Louis, what can you do?

Honestly this is probably the most excited I’ve been about a debut since the start of the season. Just feels like it’s been a long time coming and I’ve wanted to see him get a shot for a while. If he didn’t get a call up this year there was a chance he never did. Is an exciting player to watch and looked good in camp. Maybe he can earn himself a shot for next year in these last 6 games. Bahl has looked a lot better lately too.

Seattle really botched that expansion draft and I was hoping theyd do well. Was a shame

Maybe itll mean better draft picks in the near future and ultimately a Bedard or high-end player or two. Benier looks to be good but Im not sure what his ceiling is tbh. Hes kind of like a Hischier-Hughes collab
