Not to take this too far into TAN territory but I hear you about the zero calories part. About a year or so pre-pandemic I quit regular soda and energy drinks and was down to either just a 16oz can or 20oz bottle of diet soda per day. I lost like 10 pounds probably just because of that. I've fallen off the wagon since between some personal stuff and the general insanity in this country over the last few years (I'm a stress eater). I think that might be why I'm enjoying this season so much and not worrying about bad games here or there.
I hear ya on that. In the second half of 2020 through about October of 2021 I fell off the wagon of my diet and maintaining my weight. I started drinking anything (other than alcohol) eating anything. I drugged myself with food and gained I think like 70 pounds over about 1.5 years. I’d bet the last 50 were in about 8 months. Mostly over the very slow and painful end to a relationship with someone I really loved, but she turned out to be no good, on top of substance abuse issues. I’ve been over that extensively on here. It even led to some people reaching out and sending me messages, as they noticed I wasn’t very active during the 2021 off-season.
I was able to lose all 70 of those pounds between October of 2021 and probably the end of last summer.
So now I’m back to normal somewhat. I still have my issues, but I’m at least back to life now.
Yeah, eating is my drug. Fortunately my only one. I still allow myself a massive cheat day where I pollute my body with so much terrible food haha.
