Do any of you remember seeing Jack take a particularly hard hit or blocking a shot that looked like it hit him in a bad spot? This seems to have come out of nowhere.

The Brady ASG fall? He looked super awkward on that fall

when your three best forwards (four if you include Mercer I guess?) are 24 and under, it really makes it a lot easier pill to swallow
I mean, yeah. When you have Jack Hughes, Nico Hischier, and a plethora of other younger players who can play center, it's not the end of the world if your center prospect depth isn't great.

Utter insanity it would be

Jack and Nico are budding stars in this league. They showed signs of their potential every season and it finally came together.

Mac is really winning me over these days. His devotion to fight through injury and carry the team on his back is impressive.

The majority of the goalies in this league are incredible.

I don’t honestly know these two teams cap situations, but is it possible someone like Washington or Pittsburgh can swoop in and get Timo?

They’re almost definitely both first round exits and that’s if both teams even make the playoffs to begin with. Washington wants to keep competing as long as Ovechkin is playing and they got rid of both goalies just to bring in Kuemper this off-season, who will likely be toast before the deal ends.

And like I said, both of these teams are as close as you can get to first round exit locks as is. Neither have won a round since 2018. Caps have been a one and done since the cup win in 2018 and the Pens won the first round the year after their 2017 cup and have won nothing since. They even very embarrassingly lost the play-in round to Montreal in 2020.

Is it possible a team like those two can swoop in?

This is why I haven't changed my janky, off-center Brodeur wallpaper since 2009. I want everyone to know who's spamming them with terrible Dad jokes, dammit! :sarcasm:

I think I've only been on this board for 1 playoff run, but I'm suddenly remembering the play-off avatars we've had.

Do we have some cheesy slogan this year like we did last time ("Now we rise")?

It’s always possible but if the reporting is accurate and SJ would be willing to let an acquiring team talk extension it’s going to be tricky for teams who would only add him as a rental. Presumably NJ would offer a bit more than the top end rental cost.

I highly doubt he is, but if Jack is out tomorrow, what lines do we got with?

Hasn't Shara traditionally swung over to center when needed?
