I’m not an expert by any means… but I’m not sure that’s how women hold their hands.

The Devils created a lot more turnovers on the forecheck last year. They had 2 forwards who basically made a rhythmic X around the opposing team’s blue line that created difficulties for teams at times.

This year teams almost never struggle to break out of their defensive zone.
Okay I get it. Our counter attack game. Definitely we are easier to make exits against at the opposing blue line and easier to come through center ice against. We don't step up and pick off passes in the neutral zone or at our own blue line like we did last year. I agree with that. When we score off the rush it's not often a quick counterattack.

But that's different from having a forecheck game of the "chip and chase" variety. Where you put the puck in deep and make the defense turn and play it and your first man in retrieves the puck or detaches the defense from it and you cycle. We haven't had a forecheck game defined as a cycle for any number of seasons. We did get marginally worse at it this year, I'd say, lacking Tatar and Wood or more experienced defensemen, but it was never much a part of our game

“Meier told NJ Advance Media, “Then, really giving me a chance and putting me in spots where I like being — where I feel like I can showcase what I can and trying to help the team have success.”“

Feels like there is some possible shade on his usage earlier this season.
Yup and alluding to his chemistry with Nico and Bratt. It seems like he felt like he wasn’t being used properly which is what 95
Percent of the board was saying back in November. Granted, injury probably played a small role but his actual on ice role was a hindrance as well.

Timo is a guy that has to play a lot of minutes and ruff kept trying to curb his minutes into the 15-16 range when timo is at his best he’s seeing 18-19 minutes a game

Its a 2015, got it in 2021 with only 8,000 miles on it. Only 28,000 miles today. The benefits of remote working

My car sat for about a week and when I started it there was so much condensation in the exhaust that vaporized I thought it was a head gasket problem. I brought it in yesterday for a check and $300 later it was nothing. Needless to say my wife was thrilled. It's unusual my car sits that long but I guess with Easter close courts didn't want to have any in person hearings and lawyers punted on depositions for a week.

So, we were all right? Meier was not being used correctly and Ruff let it go on for the entire season? Unreal.
which is a bit of insight into the unwritten rules of hockey ooaching/management. Ruff was allowed to set up the team's big offseason investment for failure for most of a season. Now the injury clearly didn't help but why Fitz thought Ruff jerking around Meier was ok is beyond me. Either he agreed with Ruff or didn't want to intrude on Ruff's coaching decisions for better or worse.
