The hardest things to acquire/draft for NHL teams:

A superstar center
A two way selke caliber center
A true power forward
An elite two way dman
An elite offensive dman (we possibly have two)

We have that.

Give them a better coach and supporting cast and you will see another fantastic turnaround next season
You left out a point per game play driving wing. But I think those prize defenders have a bit more growing to do before they can turn the team around.

Eiserman is a waste of top-10 pick.
Ok. Tell the industry, they all must be wrong on him.

Appreciate your definitive prospect statements though.

It really was a final gut punch for this squad after a dozen punches. The only good stretch of hockey this team had was late November into early January. It wasn’t great hockey but good enough to probably make it into the playoffs. Then Jack and Siegs go down in those early January games and then McLeod is gone shortly after that. That was basically it

Zero mojo, zero energy. Coupled with our young kids on D hitting the rookie wall which is natural. Not enough depth and not enough inspiration is a bad combination

Reset for next season. New coach. Better complimentary pieces and I think we will see a massive resurgence.

I truly think that team needs in more defensive oriented coach and find good top-4 defenseman. They don’t need to play NYR2023 defensive style game, but if they will simplify their game, will add two three faster forechecking forwards, they will be good.
Green should and will walk away.

And a lot of players should heal and rest. They doesn’t look healthy with full of energy.
I agree with you regarding health of players, I agree with simplified defensive plan for both sides of center line, more aggressive forwards.

I do not agree that Green should and will walk away. He will have to be fired by Fitz hopefully early in the offseason so Fitz doesn't think he can fix this letter while he works on the player's needs. I like your thinking, thanks.

And I’m curious to find out what Bratts career Feb-April numbers are compared to October-January. Not sure anyone can show those splits.

Seems like he always hits a wall himself this time of the season

They definitely seem to take a bit of a tumble in February, March and April, but he also has pretty similar numbers for November, for what it’s worth. And interestingly he has over a point a game in his career in October. His only career month averaging a point per game or more.

Thought so. His downward trend each season is very interesting. Especially March. Not hating on the player, I love Bratt and he is an essential piece. But this time of year is rough for him for whatever reason

So we basically need at least two defenseman, a fourth line, a starting goalie, and a top 6 winger. Oh and an entire coaching staff. Good thing we've got an extra 2.35 mil with Schneider and Kuokkanens buyouts going away. Only one more year of Kovalchuks penalty too.
I think the top 6 winger needs to be a center hybrid to take faceoffs for Jack Hughes and also to play center if Hughes plays wing. Basically a better version of Huala.

From the free agents list, Chandler Stephenson and Adam Henrique would work. Stephenson more preferable due to his age. Premium options like Sam Reinhart and Elias Lindholm would be too high cap hit.

Man, you can go and watch games. There are lot of them. And you can recognize you is a driver and play maker on his line, what kind of stupid stuff he is making and what kind of decision he is making. And how good his skills are, not only iq. Howard was the most productive US NTDP player in his year, but was drafted in the end of the first round, in the same time Cooley, Gauthier and Snuggerrud were drafted little bit higher.

Eiserman is the waste of top ten pick. Its not in points graphics. And industry is telling very different things now about him, that was available for recognition all that time. Industry told that Wright was top1 pick and he was top 2 pick on absolutely the most industry mouths until the ending end. I prefer to trust my eyes and experience. Holtz was top 10 by the feel of industry btw.

Will see, but its not as hard to find replacement when everybody in the job. Beaune was free, but I was not a fan. May be Fitz too.

McLeod is “most likely” a terrible human, but he was also an effective player. That situation didn’t help but I would argue Jack’s injury which occurred around the same time was the main factor.

Now the Devils have Nosek and his 1 point and Tierney and his 8pts. I understand advance stats are the new thing but also having a 30pt 1C or 2C (Haula) and 30pt winger (Palat) in the top 6 is Ruff 😉.

Before:
Nico
Jack
Lazar/Haula
(Sh!thead)

After:
Nico (50pts )in 57 games)
Haula (30pts)
Lazar (20pts)
Nosek/Tierney (8pts)

I would argue last years team was much better at outscoring their flaws. Oh well, better luck next season.

To get the best person for the HC job takes time with max available, early during the off season, if you are talking about the HC job.

I don't think Travis Green will resign on his own. He might argue that he should return to the 2nd in command, Associate Head Coach in the very least. I think new HC with his own staff except he must retain Bryin as an assistant for continuity plus he shouldn't be a victim of Ruff and Green removal. What do you think?

I'm cleaning house if it were up to me. Literally every coach is gone.
