That’s fun how it absolutely different here. I was starting to draw when I was 26. In 29 I started to work as artist. And I studing every time, because it’s hard and a lot to know. And there are o tonns of women in art community and very few men. Work as cog artist for mobile gaming company, grow as artist on 19th century art. Don’t like super hero comix) not my thing. I know I’m really going revisionist history here, but I really wonder if we could have gotten a first round pick for David Clarkson in 2013? Even if we still get Cory, maybe the Clarkson trade still gives us a first rounder?

I’m looking at the Leafs here and the guy they took with their first rounder (21st overall) was recent Devil from just this past year Frédérik Gauthier.

We knew we weren’t keeping Clarkson for anything near what he got. Lou did make an offer, but it was very low and caused his agent to take shots at him about how he’s lost several players in recent years for free in UFA and is no stranger to it. We were floundering around and clearly not looking like a playoff team for quite a bit before the deadline, but our hot start, combined with the fact that the season was also a short one and ended before things really got bad and we could really bottom out, is what kept us from really coming near the bottom-5. We almost definitely finish bottom-5 that year if it were an 82 game season. Between goalie problems (that was really the first year where the position started to really cost us) with Marty getting hurt and being just about toast and Hedberg being unplayable and the team being so horrible at scoring, finishing higher than bottom-5 if we went 82 games not just 48 would have been extremely hard.

Maybe, maybe not. Are we still talking Shero and Castron getting hired in 2015, or Lou and Conte running the rebuild? If it's the latter we'd have probably drafted Nolan over Nico and/or drafted some sack of shit grinder in the 6th round instead of Bratt.

Although I guess on the flip side if we'd been truly awful we might have ended up with McDavid, so who knows. It's kind of fun (or painful) dead of offseason time speculation.

I'm here... 10 years? Start to talk with people 4-5 years ago. Didnt change avatar. Avatars really helps. It just angers me that it’s been 10 years since we’ve played meaningful hockey and won a playoff series. Like that’s ridiculous. I’m a frustrated fan, it’s time to contend for the playoffs. I couldn’t care less about who’s in the top 10 in next year’s draft. It’s time to start winning games

Next year we will be set up pretty good. I think around 15 mil to shop around IF Severson , Wood,Johnson, Tatar , and..? all are gone. That’s with momey set aside for Bratt and other RFAs that are pieces we want to keep.

Ok, so since we are going that route people should say "I want them to play meaningful hockey for the first time in a decade minus the fluke 4 years ago"

When he gets tossed by the Islanders next offseason, I would gladly take him here in a ''Celebratory'' role, which is something he did not want to take back in 2015 and that's why he's still a GM in the NHL right now.

I don't want him anywhere near making any kind of meaningful or impactful decisions, but I think if he's here in some kind of role that isn't GM or president of hockey ops or director of scouting (nothing that has direct impact on our every day hockey operations or future) then I'd take him back and I think ownership would too.

Doesnt matter. They played meaningful hockey games from Feb to April of 2018. Basically every game was important and a must win in that stretch.

I'd say we haven't consistently played meaningful hockey since 2012, but 2017-2018 got very intense, especially towards the end of the year when we were pretty much playing playoff games the last couple weeks of the season just to get in the playoffs.

Florida was winning a lot of games there and we just barely made it in. I think we had to go like 7-1-0 or something to clinch a spot. We lost the season finale, but that was after we had already clinched.

DD was giving us the nightly updates about how great Florida was and how they couldn't be stopped. In fact, there were a few posters here that were scared of the Florida Panthers Boogieman of 2017-2018.
