Shero should call Fitz up and let him know keeping Ruff is probably bad for him and the team.
Yeah, we are DEFINITELY in October of 2019 (that's when Hynes SHOULD have been fired) with the Ruff experiment right now. We're certainly not in April/May of 2019 with Hynes, that's for sure.
As I've constantly pointed out, they weren't canning Hynes after the 18-19 season, he had just made the playoffs the year before. I thought extending him all those years was stupid (considering I'm pretty sure he went into that year as a lame duck anyway), he probably should have been extended just one more year at that point and if we missed the playoffs or got off to a bad start (like we did) we fire him (like we did) but he's done after that year. It doesn't matter anyway because Nashville started paying him the money he was owed about 35 days later, but that was too much of a vote of confidence.
However, I do maintain that it was too much to ask for and too much to expect Hynes to be fired in the 2019 offseason.
He really should have been fired whenever Fitz got sent down to the bench to babysit. That was entirely stupid and made no sense. That was just a ridiculous method of life support.
I don't think it's too much to ask for or too much to expect Ruff to be fired right now. People said that Shero stuck by Hynes too long, but probably only by about 6 or 7 weeks, not by an entire offseason. Ruff coaching a game here next year is just officially too long with him.
