less thoughts on a conn smythe winner, maybe Nico can hold the a fort. But then again Puuljarvi should've been taken #1
Yeah.

Also, am I mistaken or did Bratt's last contract kinda drag on too?

I don’t think arbitration would work in Bratts favour though so it could be a risky card to pull. He would likely get much less than he wants and that would give the devils some leverage. He signed on Jan 10, 2021 and our first game was on Jan 14, so yes, it kinda did.
Thanks to a COVID slowed visa process, the first game Bratt played in was on Jan 28th. He missed the first 6 games.
His agent filed for arbitration with all his current NHL clients when they were able to as RFAs. (All two of them, though he pulled that move twice with Ullmark.)

I wouldn’t be so sure about that because arbitration doesn’t likely work in Bratt’s favour given his previous production IMO.
He probably get’s much less than he’s asking for on a one year deal and then he’ll be an rfa again in a year. And I’d imagine Bratt will want a long-term deal.
Let's get something new going. Vancouver poster suggests the Devils are desperate for a Subban replacement and a top scoring veteran with veteran leadership qualities.
This is the deal:
Quinn Hughes and JT Miller to the Devils
2022 and 2023 Devils 1sts + Pavel Zacha to Vancouver.
Believes the Quinn move as a marketing piece in NJ is a gem. All 3 Hughes brothers together.
Miller -
'22-23 $5.25mil
'23-24 UFA
Hughes -
'22-23 - '26-27 > $7.85mil/per yr.
vs
Zacha -
RFA who was making $2.25 mil
Cost to the devils beside the picks is an increase of $10.85 mil to their cap for '22-23
If they keep Miller he will be going for at least $9mil provided he put up the same kind of numbers:
80GP/32G/67A/99 Pts
Hughes numbers:
76GP/8G/60A/68Pts
What say you?
Vancouver is getting screwed in that deal. Columbus got more for Seth Jones.Let's get something new going. Vancouver poster suggests the Devils are desperate for a Subban replacement and a top scoring veteran with veteran leadership qualities.

He is absolutely a fit. More so than Fiala. And he wont cost any asset other than cap space.Been poking through this thread and noticed not many people talking about Filip Forsberg. Is he not a fit? I thought that could be a good add to line 1 with Hughes and Sharangovich
On another note, what makes a good 1st line? Is it 3 guys that can create offense? Is it ok if one player is a defensive stalwart? Do you want the video game style playmaker goal-scorer power forward? How do people think about that?
Why is gambling synonymous with Jersey?Yeah.

Perfect defense. We should bring Butcher back!Let's get something new going. Vancouver poster suggests the Devils are desperate for a Subban replacement and a top scoring veteran with veteran leadership qualities.

This would be extremely kind of us.We could also take Suzuki off their hands giving them some more cap space for free agency. (Saw somebody suggest they could do this for us with Severson)
This
Who also happens to have only 2 years left on his contract and I’m not really interested in trading major assets such as Holtz and a potential pick in the 5-15 range next year for 2 years of Nylander. To Tor- Alex Holtz, Pavel Zacha, Reilly Walsh and a top 5 protected 23 1st
To NJ- William Nylander, Nick Robertson, and Petr Mrazek
Nylander gives us a top 6 goal scoring threat who happens to go way back with Jack. Robertson is a decent middle 6 prospect with good potential. Mrazek is coming off of an injury plagued season and is only 29. I think he could be due to have a bounce back and could be a really solid 1b like he was in Carolina. Due 3.2M for 2 more years. Maybe ask for 1M retention from Toronto. This trade also enables us to keep 2OA and draft Slafkovsky.
Mrazek sucks and has been bad since about 2016. He's had more bad years than good years in his career at this point. To Tor- Alex Holtz, Pavel Zacha, Reilly Walsh and a top 5 protected 23 1st
