Teams always send the weaker/AHL squad on the road in the per-season especially in split squad situations. So if you are picking which game to watch pick the home game.

Looks like they will. Devils crew will call over the Philly stream. Montreal will be a stream provided by the Habs

The MTL stream consists of a guy saying “Trade Nemec for Anderson and a second that’s a good deal” over and over again. I’m not sure I can listen to that for two hours even if I get to watch Stillman and Thompson.

After browsing capfriendly I saw that we're done with Schneider and Kuokkanens buyouts after this year. Like 2.5 mil worth of added space. One more year after this of the Kovalchuk penalty too.
Imagine if that measly $250,000 recapture penalty becomes an issue in 24-25!:eek3:

I'm just happy they'll have another 2.5 to use in addition to any increase in the cap. That's basically a decent to good depth player or more in Mercers pocket.
That’s with 2 mil of cap space right now and some contracts coming off as well. Things looking swell for when Luke/Nemec etc. need extensions.

Curious to see how they’ll deploy the power play units.

I was wondering why we didn't see any "their pp looks amazing!" or whatever they worded it as every year.

Nico
Jack-Toffoli-Meier
Dougie

Haula/Palat
Holtz-Mercer-Bratt
Luke

I think you flip flop Haula and Palat depending on whether it's a faceoff or on the fly

It makes way too much sense, so it won't happen.

I'm impressed with what exactly? So your opinion is Hughes is too good to play in a tournament that almost all rookies play in?

You can't honestly think he should be just handed a roster spot, can you? If so, I guess he shouldn't have to participate in pre-season games either, because he "could" get hurt.

And he and Jack shouldn't be permitted to ever play in the Olympics, because they "could" get hurt.

Injuries are part of the deal, they happen but to hold someone out just because of what might happen is silliness.
save them for the stanley cup parade

I feel like I have been very vocal about my criticisms of Alex Holtz. I want to see him succeed. He had a great preseason last year, was given like one game worth of opportunity to begin to feel out the NHL game, and immediately shuffled up and down the lineup and into and out of the press box because he didn't show 'it' in his first games of the year. That is not the type of player you can do that to. If Lindy really wants to start him with Nico and Timo, he has to give Alex time to settle in, learn how to play with those two, and understand that there is probably going to be a learning curve and it won't be perfect right off the bat. You shuffle him up and down the lineup, I am pretty confident that we will see the exact same result with Holtz as last year. No confidence, no chemistry with his linemates, and probably right back to the press box. Lindy needs to be content with letting Alex make his mistakes and grow from them.

Agree. Im ok to use him in top-6, im ok to use him as a third liner. Just give him more games with pretty the same partners.
