Right but at the same time, we shouldn't argue for dumb GM's in this league lol. It's a whatever deal and that's someone who absolutely adores Haula as a player and probably will get his jersey.

I agree, but we’re all splitting hairs at this point as far as aav. In reality it’s probably a pretty“fair” deal all things considered.

The drink isn’t going to stir itself…

Good chance Haula outperforms his salary the 1st 2 years.

Hope so, I have nothing against Palat and Haula as players. I hope they kill it to the end of their contracts but it's just being realistic with their term, lol.

Eh, not the best AAV but not the worst. 9M in a 35 year old Haula and 32 year old Palat will have to be figured out when Nemec and Luke are going to be looking for deals but not the end of the world.

The Haula one's definitely far more manageable. It's a slight overpay on money and 1 year too long compared to a sizable one on money and a 1/2 years long. I could see Haula in 3 years still being playable enough even if over 3 ends up being like a ~1 mil overpay and you could keep him. Palat's going to have to be dumped though

was reading the Gritsyuk thread and made me remember how stacked we are with offensive talent. amazing what management has built.

its also funny how our biggest question mark is goaltending. i think Marty needs to come out of retirement for one last one lol

I kind of disagree with the offensive talent. We're obviously really really stacked on the high end with 4 stars and maybe another in Mercer. I think the depth is kind of eh though (hopefully won't be by the time the offseason is over) and really eh in the pipeline. Holtz or Gritsyuk hitting as legit top 6ers would really help things. I'm not sure Holtz ever really ends up sticking with us though and think Gritsyuk might be more of a middle 6er. Clarke probably a 3rd liner maybe a middle 6er. Beyond that it's quite rough. I'd feel better if we didn't fumble the Stillman pick so hard and had like Stankoven or Raty instead. If Yegor and/or the picks aren't used to make a move for a top 6er like Debrusk or Toffoli I'd really like to use our picks and move Yegor for some picks and re-stack the pipeline up front.

The backend is where I think we're stacked

I actually think those numbers are probably gonna be accurate but they're just haggling over small details like NTC's/salary per year. It would make sense they got the numbers done with Timo done first, pivot to Haula and then finish the Timo contract.

I mean yeah probably but it's probably more common sense than real intel.
