No word yet whether Chico will be back next year as the color guy on the radio coverage? I certainly hope he returns. He’s the last link with the glory years and just a great real time commentator and personality.
I see this is coming out on the 6th. We should create a "Threads" thread where we can all share our info to atleast make the Devils contingent strong.Just wait for Meta's version of Twitter coming out later this week
at the risk of being bombarded with dano memes, i wish he and chico could switch spots for a couple of years (assuming chico would be ok with that). i’d love to hear his grandpa enthusiasm for the team we have now vs dano's admittedly likable caveman-esque grunts. No word yet whether Chico will be back next year as the color guy on the radio coverage? Chico may have determined when he and Doc left that the demands of TV, the make up, pressure of TV stuff like that, wasn’t worth it. He has more freedom for sure doing radio. The trouble is that Matt Laughlin is basically by nature a color guy too but doing play by play. No one on the Devils radio really describes what’s happening on the ice so that you can really visualize the game. Chico initially retired from the TV color commentary gig because I think his wife wanted to go back to Minnesota full time to spend time with her sister. I forget if his sister in law was ill at the time or not, but she passed away a couple of years later, and I remember Chico openly saying he would love to come back to do something for the team if he could. It was probably a year later when he was hired to be the radio color commentator.Chico may have determined when he and Doc left that the demands of TV, the make up, pressure of TV stuff like that, wasn’t worth it. Just done with Elon's BS and I feel most in the media are as well. With the Meta backing I feel everyone will shift to Threads instantly.I haven't been on twitter since the rate limits fiasco on the first day of free agency, it doesn't seem too bad now. Did I miss something? Lol
I didn't directly hear that but I do wonder how much longer he'd want to given his age. Although the team hitting new glory days could be very inciting and incentive for him to want to stay on. This is all speculation though. I'd personally bet Chico would want to stay a part of the team until it's basically impossible for him to do so.Chico initially retired from the TV color commentary gig because I think his wife wanted to go back to Minnesota full time to spend time with her sister. By the way, did you hear Chico may not be back? I'm kind of out of the loop on that. Not sure if you had heard something or if you were just wondering?
I remember you interviewing him years ago. I had you written off as being MIA from the forum, until I recognized your Dover location and figured you did a name change. Obviously at some point since we got Meier.I didn't directly hear that but I do wonder how much longer he'd want to given his age. This in comparison to Cangialosi who essentially left because the MLS schedule overlap was basically too much to handle. I remember him telling me he didn't have much time to prepare for games because of the consistent back and forth. Of course, this was several years ago and my recollection isn't what it it used to be. (This was prior to us drafting Zacha so lol)

I remember you also saying that Steve actually said he reads HF Boards and that maybe Chico and Dano do as well lol.
He literally scored over 60 and was MVP a season ago.Lmfao. second best player in the league.
I never saw the Eagles. I am sure they were great. Joe Walsh is one of my favorites. An underrated guitarist in my view.I do the name change bit for the lulz at this point.
The whole reason I was able to get those interviews was because I co ran a music site that wanted to compete with bigger name pages at the time like AV Club, etc. So that lead to sports and TV/film interviews.
I also did an interview with Ryan Miller, Parise, Dubinsky and Stafford. Parise said he thought advertising on jerseys would be the death of the sport. Dubinsky had the personality of wet toilet paper and Stafford liked to B.S. about the random rock bands he'd see in Buffalo and this one off time he performed at a charity thing with Miller.
I wish I could go back those older interviews. A server crash wiped them. Very unfortunate. I was basically doing what Sam Woo (who does amazing work) is doing now. I miss the hockey interviews more than anything.
I was offered a John McLean at the time too. In hindsight I should have taken it. That was a time where I was really chummy, chummy with the Prudential Center staff. Getting credentials to see the eagles pre Glenn Frey death will always be a highlight of my life. Got to bring my pop and review the entire thing.

I always knew those mutants were guilty of more than bad taste in sports. Here's a good off season concert story.
I saw Pearl Jam at Wells Fargo and Vedder teased Bruce Springsteen doing 'Streets of Philadelphia'. The Philly crowd booed Springsteen and he didn't come out.

I’ve tried to bring my youngest to shows where there is still a semblance of what the artist had to offer back in the day. With solo acts it’s fairly easy but some groups are more or less what they should be. We saw Roger Waters and the Stones recently. He actually passed on Robert Plant after watching some YouTubes of how he does the Zeppelin sings now. I wish he’d gotten to see Rush. They are up there on his list. He wanted to see Greta Van Fleet and I’m glad we went. It was fun seeing a young rock group. I’ve already told my wife that if David Gilmour tours we are going wherever we have to go so long as it is in the US.I didn't see them in their prime, but did see them a couple of years ago at MGM.
Can still shred

I am not sure how to understand your post. Is it a good comment, if yes, I agree. If not, then I disagree.Fitz takes Shits…on other GMs
