Ioan Gruffudd will always be the best Reed Richards, imo. The 2005/2007 movies stumbled in a few spots, but Reed's character was so damn good. Miles Teller was bland and unlikeable. Pedro Pascal just feels overexposed by now. I would have preferred another talented British actor with fewer Hollywood credentials. After a while it becomes less about the character he's playing, and more "oh look, it's Pedro Pascal, he'll sell tickets".

Marvel didn't exactly pick Robert Downey Junior out of obscurity in 2008....

The MCU is in terminal decline, if not for the decent Deadpool movie, it was close to dead in the water. They need the extra star power that Pascal brings (though Gladiator 2 wasn't exactly a hit...), basically I don't think they could afford to put this role on a newcomer.

Pedro Pascal is not a proven box office draw. I agree that he is more overexposed than anything so people recognize him but i don't think that means that they will necessarily go watch a movie because he is in it.

Anyone else find John Malkovich to be a terrible actor? I can't stand the guy. He has no range and has a stupid voice
You're on your own there brother.

Teddy KGB alone is a first-ballot HOF performance:

Schtick aside, he's had plenty of great roles and doesn't shy away from fully exploring them.
Sure, there has been plenty of garbage since 2000, but bills must be paid like for any working actor.

I'm guessing (put in tags just in case I end up being right...first time for everything):

The next three movies, Capt, Thunderbolts, and FF all have post-credit scenes that'll start linking to Doom and Secret Wars. Capt will introduce Red Hulk who I think (never read a lot of comics) was a big part of SW, Thunderbolts reintroduces a number of characters who will likely have cameos in SW, and of course, introducing the FF and Doom and having their dimension destroyed by Galactus (I assume they all come to the same world as the current Marvel folks for Avengers).

I thought his teddy kgb accent was so over the top (I'm probably in the minority) - great movie though which opened a lot of eyes to professional poker. It wasn't a focus on tv at the time (late 90s) and didn't explode on tv until the NHL strike (at least here in Canada).

Chiming in on the FF ---- Reed Richards is one of my favourite comic characters of all time. I despise Johnny and Susan, and somewhat tolerate The Thing. That being said, the double sized last issue of Marvel Two In One (Thing's side issue) was incredible, as was the first issue of The Thing, when marvel gave him his own title, and ended Marvel Two In One. I bought both off the newsstand when i was little and read each dozens of times.
Surprised Herbie is in the movie. Maybe the Impossible Man is in it too? When i was a kid, I liked him lol
