Ioan Gruffudd will always be the best Reed Richards, imo. The 2005/2007 movies stumbled in a few spots, but Reed's character was so damn good. Miles Teller was bland and unlikeable. Pedro Pascal just feels overexposed by now. I would have preferred another talented British actor with fewer Hollywood credentials. After a while it becomes less about the character he's playing, and more "oh look, it's Pedro Pascal, he'll sell tickets".

Marvel didn't exactly pick Robert Downey Junior out of obscurity in 2008....

The MCU is in terminal decline, if not for the decent Deadpool movie, it was close to dead in the water. They need the extra star power that Pascal brings (though Gladiator 2 wasn't exactly a hit...), basically I don't think they could afford to put this role on a newcomer.

Pedro Pascal is not a proven box office draw. I agree that he is more overexposed than anything so people recognize him but i don't think that means that they will necessarily go watch a movie because he is in it.

Anyone else find John Malkovich to be a terrible actor? I can't stand the guy. He has no range and has a stupid voice
You're on your own there brother.

Teddy KGB alone is a first-ballot HOF performance:

Schtick aside, he's had plenty of great roles and doesn't shy away from fully exploring them.
Sure, there has been plenty of garbage since 2000, but bills must be paid like for any working actor.
