new agenda....HOLTZ VS LAF DEBATE

Holtz: 9 GP, 10:14 ATOI, 3 goals, 1 assist, 14 shots
Laf: 10 GP, 16:01 ATOT, 4 goals, 0 assists, 14 shots

Imagine if Holtz got to play with f***ing Panarin

McLeod could become our mad dog madden if he develops a little bit of a scoring touch. A gamer, kills penalties, strong on the powerplay, and he can slide up and down the lineup.

Also, I have no idea how Nate dog stayed on his feet and emerged to the front of the net on that first goal.

He isn't nearly as good defensively. Madden was a Selke guy and McLeod's a strong PKer but has never been all that good defensively at 5v5

Did anyone catch a name on the back? #1 with the "C"?:laugh::laugh:

(Apologies if it's already been discussed. I'm too lazy to go searching)

I think the goalie to target is likely the guy they just played in Minnesota. The only problem is that he's probably 2 years from being traded. Gustavsson has a 3 year deal. If he plays well this year and next, he'll be too expensive for Minnesota to re-sign, given that Wallstedt will probably be pushing to start by then.

Edit: saying this because I don't think any of the top tier goalies are moving, so Devils likely need to aim lower.

I thought Gustavsson was quite a find but he’s had a very rough start this season. It’s early but disappointing for everyone trolling for potential future goalies.

He hasn't proven it time and time again. He's clearly a different player than he was two years ago - he has more confidence carrying the puck and he's able to do more things while skating. That said, he's never going to be able to shoot, and so that probably keeps him out of a top 9, but he's got more offensive skill than he is given credit for here.
I don’t think we should say he will never be able to shoot. That is a skill that can be improved

But he currently is one of the worst shooters in the league. That is true.

Yeah, those stats are absolute testament to just how good Jesper Bratt is. If the 18 points didn’t give it away imagine dragging Michael f***ing McLeod into those kinds of numbers.
McLeod had good numbers prior to playing with Bratt.

Obviously Bratt has supercharged those good numbers. But even last night Mcleod had better numbers then Bratt.

This is McLeod's 6th pro season and he has shown no progress on his shot. He is still deeply out of rhythm when he takes a shot. Occasionally (read: once or twice a season) he can fool a goaltender with a wrister, but mostly he pushes the puck towards the net, too often on the ice. His last four goals have been either tap-ins to a wide open net or essentially 'passing' the puck into the net via stick-handling.

Check that - basically every goal he scored last season was also of this variety. So that's his last 8 goals dating back to the beginning of last season were either into a mostly vacated net, or stickhandled in. He just has no shooting ability.

It’s really thing I think holding him back from being a viable 3C.

A lot of people enjoying the finishing at 98% and goals at 0%.

Finishing is an anytime stat and goals is a 5 on 5 stat. Luke’s goals did not come at 5 on 5, so that’s the weird discrepancy.

Even funnier is JFresh saying “Luke is the first rookie with enough experience for a card”

And all the replies are like “where’s Poitras?” “Where’s Cuylle?”

This is the first time I’m noticing a difference between the plotted point for “WAR percentile rank” and the “Projected WAR”. His current rank looks like it should be like ~80% and his projected war is 68%

Edit: He deleted the tweet so maybe there was something off
