If Bernier is rumored to be considering retiring then he’s not coming back. Fitz made it pretty sound like he wasn’t playing here again a while back.

Not sure why we aren’t getting a more specific update on Bastian, the only thing I can think of is they’re trying rehab to avoid surgery that would take him out for the year. I’m not expecting him back.

Not saying what happened to Marino is a little too secretive but whatever.

Sorry for switching gears here but @Bleedred , I noticed in one of the vids you put up, the PA announcer mentioned the 3 Stars of the Game which, to my delight, was Jesper as the 1st Star.

Do opposing teams do the 3 Stars after a loss?

I don't think i've ever heard that before.

Maybe others here could chime in as well.

I’m pretty sure every team in the league does the 3 stars after a game.

Honestly, I have a feeling that it could still happen afterward. I don't think "week to week" is going to be on the shorter side. Maybe he comes up after WJC and he gets some NHL games but we still get to slide the ELC (not the biggest deal ever, of course, but it would be nice if we ultimately didn't need him for long enough to burn a year)

Ya it is probably largely dependent on how Okhotiuk does too. If Okhotiuk runs with it and plays well over the next 2-3 weeks I doubt they’ll replace him with Nemec. If he doesn’t and Graves and Marino are still hurt there’s probably a pretty good chance of Nemec getting the call-up after the world juniors.

Yes and no. Not the end of the world but it’s still a big loss over an important stretch of games. Kind of bad timing with a tough schedule right now, and us looking to turn things around.
