bahl seems fine. Not a guy in my top 4 right now ideally, but he's a fine plug. If Marino and Graves are both out, we're either running a rookie-rookie pairing or a rookie-smith pairing full time though.

And I don't LOVE that, tbh.

I think Bahl is quite good. His analytics are good but obviously of limited use due to his lack of playing time this season. Not crazy about him with Smith.

I think both of those guys need somebody like Severson that can help transition out of the zone. Putting them together is just asking for problems. With Graves out for a while and Marino with a mystery injury I'm guessing both Smith and Sevs will move up into top 4 roles, so it'll be interesting to see who ends up with Bahl.

Is Bahl actually good? Yes? No?

He looks good enough to me, after I thought he looked horrible his first call in 20-21, as well as all but his last call up of last year, which I thought was very good.

He doesn't play hardly any games, and he sure don't play hardly any minutes when he does get into games.

I'm not saying Bastian isn't good, as much as I'm saying I don't think Bastian's absence is why we lost all those games recently, which some have suggested as a possibility.

However, the other two guys don't seem to be as good without him and this seems to confirm it.

And if these are any indication, should we probably look to not extend Miles Wood?

I actually liked Bastian more than most for a while after he was drafted. I think a lot of people were fairly high on him at first, but it cooled down after a couple of years before he made his league debut.

Bastian is good. If he will sign 3y+ deal, I want his jersey.

Sorry for switching gears here but @Bleedred , I noticed in one of the vids you put up, the PA announcer mentioned the 3 Stars of the Game which, to my delight, was Jesper as the 1st Star.

Do opposing teams do the 3 Stars after a loss?

I don't think i've ever heard that before.

Maybe others here could chime in as well.

Do opposing teams do the 3 Stars after a loss?

Severson went from healthy scratch to playing 20 plus minutes back to back games. He played almost 25 minutes and I'm sure some were added because of the Graves injury. I know he has his flaws but atleast we know he can slot back into the top 4. I wonder what the pairings will be tonight. Can't imagine they want to roll Bahl and Ohotyuk together against Boston unless the plan is form them to play like 10ish minutes.

Either way tonight will be a big test. We ate legit banged up right now with no Marino, Graves , Bastian and Palat. If guys like Bahl and Ohotyuk are going to be NHLers than they have to be able to not look too out of place in a lesser role during the next few games.

The 3 stars are always announced at the rock and the opposing players get the same unenthusiastic quiet tone from the announcer that opposing goals do.

When there’s a mix of teams in the 3 stars, which isn’t that uncommon, the tonal switch always amusing.
