Since we were called braggadocious on the main board it made me itch for a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle GDT just so I can use words like Cowabunga, Bodacious, Bossa Nova, Chevy Nova, Righteous Etc.

The TMNT opening feels very similar to how we feel as a fanbase right now. Even has a spot for our favorite Doggo with Raph being grumpy.

I was already fighting off the urge to buy the Cowabunga Collection for myself. Problem for me is that it would require a new console since I lent my PS4 to my cousin and it broke.

"Donatello the bummer dude" hit a little close to home.

Also one of the TMNT co-creators lives down the street from my buddy. Gave some thought about showing up dressed as a turtle for Halloween just to bug him. [/coolstorybro]

You'd think that collection would be able to run on even a very basic computer.

Always enjoyed "turtles on time" the most, I still have "Big Apple! 3 AM" stuck in my head along with

I remember round 1 of the 2012 playoffs. I was pretty confident we’d win once I knew FLA was the opponent. Stephen Weiss was annoying that entire round. I’m looking at the standings now and if we stay #1 in the division I think we take care of NYI, NYR, MTL, however FLA could be annoying. Long way from now, but it feels good knowing we can win a series……..

Really? I remember being annoyed because FLA had played us tough all season. Was way less worried about PIT, PHI and NYR.

Haven't seen that movie in FOREVER, probably since the 90s............ you know, back when I was a kid.

Wasn't Vanilla Ice in that, as cameo, or was that a sequel?

Definitely worthy of a GDT theme at some point!!

I wasn't too worried about a team coached by worthless sack of shit Kevin Dineen (I'm sure Utica's playoff opponent last year wasn't either), who was starting Scott Clemmensen in several games.

He’ll be playing on December 21st in Florida, just to spite me. That’s even the second half of a back to back.

I still think he’ll get a conditioning stint in the minors before he gets into NHL games though.
I’m sure he is leaving you a fruit basket at the will call window when the team is in Florida

Please trade for pool party. Johnsson and a 5th should be enough.

Wow EDM wrecked that guy. I'm sure he can be a reclamation project somewhere, i'm not sure we should bite now, no room this season, but would have been useful last year... or next year depending how the lineup shakes out after all these contracts are up/re-signings..

I believe it was the second one. They came out about a year apart, the first and second ones. I saw them in the movie theaters with friends. They were okay. I probably would have liked them more if I was a little bit younger than 14/15 when they came out.

My favorite star of the second one was Kevin Nash playing shredder.

And it took a LONG time for any of us to find out that it was Kevin Nash in that movie. I'm pretty sure he's credited as Kevin Nash in that movie, but we knew him as Steel or Vinny Vegas and Oz and probably Diesel before we even knew the guy's real name was Kevin Nash. We didn't what the hell the guy's real name was haha. I don't even know if I knew it was him when he actually showed up back in WCW again in 1996 under his real name of Kevin Nash. I probably found out about that 10 years after the fact.

Fun fact, I watched that today and it will be off of Netflix after New Years Eve.

He's the perfect reclamation project. Edmonton has no scoring depth and needs him to produce. We have tons of scoring depth and can plant him on the third line and tell him to just play good territorial hockey. Good chance that with the pressure off, he starts to score.

You know all the early to mid '80s born, and late '70s born, eyes lighting up when they see TNMT stuff.... I won't lie, that shit was awesome. I mean, who of that generation didn't watch that cartoon series after school coming back home..... or sat morning or whenever the f it was...!

Now that I saw this clip, I am reminded to now share with my kids... (they were going through a ninja phase just recently)....

(to keep it on track, i definitely want to see a GDT now with this. lol)

Some sad quotes in there

I don’t think there’s room here unless Bastian is done for the year. Even then, he wouldn’t be happy here either because I don’t think he’s a top 6 guy in this lineup.

It seems you have about 4-6 years on me, :) so you kinda edged out when the movie came out. It seems it was the second one -- I just started digging it up on google. I don't remember the plot much, but I remember that Vanilla Ice had a cameo lol.... Didn't realize that either about Kevin Nash...

I'd try it for next year, our roster is too bliss right now, even with injuries.....ya know, #1 in league don't mess with ANYTHING at the moment.

You guys are probably right, I forgot about Palat and Bastian on IR. Even without them we have a lot of depth on wing. Sadly I think next year might be too late. Wouldn't be surprised to see him head back to Europe unless his season turns around.

While I think he’d be great here, who would we trade that they’d want?

Tatar could be a fit for them, but he’s playing extremely well - would we really want to do that?

I’d do Boqvist for Poolparty. But would Edmonton do it?

Maybe Bahl? I’d prefer to send them Smith, but not sure that works.

At this point I'm assuming that he's almost on waivers. Johnsson makes the cap work, and a 5th to make it somewhat worth their while. And maybe they get something out of Johnsson too.

I would absolutely not trade Boqvist for Puljujarvi. Also it wouldn't work with the cap.

If that’s true, I agree with you. But, in that case, I still I think there are a lot of teams that could beat our offer.

But, I think pool party still plays a meaningful role there and I don’t think they trade him unless they get an upgrade for this year. Or at least swap for a different underperforming prospect in a more meaningful position (like D).

Vanilla Ice is in the sequel where he sings go ninja go ninja go!

The first TMNT movie wasn't the greatest movie ever but after seeing them try to reboot the movies its easy to see that costumes+puppetry is way better then CGI. Also I don't know about everyone else but TMNT along with some other 80s movies were a bit dark but I was never affected by it. It felt nice that a movie wasn't treating us like stupid kids who wouldn't understand about gangs, Arson, and kids having bad relations with their parents.

The Cast and crew did a youtube reuinion during covid and its a pretty good watch. the Shredder actor say's his movie intro lines and he still has it.
