I missed this over the weekend - can somebody fill me in on what the tweet was? Guessing it was something from Bratt Pack?

Don’t see if someone responded to this so…
Yes, it was the Bratt pack. The tweet wasn’t much, he called the Rangers p***yes. That’s a word I managed to stop using about 20 years ago, but if people want to argue it’s no big deal, fine, whatever.

Anyway, he got called out on it so he blocked a bunch of people and deleted the tweet. Just seems like a shitty dude, consistent with how he conducted himself on here.

Just my luck that he wormed his way into a high profile super-fan status on one of my favorite players.

Has there been any word on if the Devils are planning on a moms/dads trip this year? I saw earlier on a couple teams revived that for this year, I wonder if the Devils have one lined up.

Always seems to make for some entertaining content whenever they come along.

With the Swiss flavor on our club, I imagine at least 3 Devils are hanging their heads at a true World Cup blow out this afternoon as Portugal really beats them up. It’s not just in hockey you need goaltending. Soccer balls are going right through and by that Swiss goal keeper.
Better that than our Swiss goalkeeper!

Is there any chance that the Devils could ever be involved in/host an outdoor game that doesn't involve the Rangers?

i think it depends on restrictions amongst countries - i know canada is easier to travel to/from now, so i hope they resume those trips. our teams young, and i'm sure their parents would love the opportunity to watch and be wined and dined

I'm sure NJ could sponsor an outdoor game between two Canadian teams or something. Call it the Perpetual Rebuild Classic and it can feature an outdoor game between Vancouver and Ottawa.

Logistically, looking at the schedule, this upcoming weekend seems to make the most sense in that regard.

Fly in on the weekend (maybe even start it Friday for the Islanders game) and then have them around for the back to back with Rangers (away) and Dallas (home).

I don’t really see another good window aside from that until after March. Devils don’t really have any good travel games in January/February and I doubt they’re going to take them to Minnesota mid-winter.

Well we can be very creative if we want. I think A LOT depends on the whole Bratt decision. If they are way off, you can make a Matty T type of trade. We all love having Bratt, but he is just another Hughes. Of course you want as many as you get get....But, there is potential to have a different type of player.

For example, you can trade Bratt to Arizona for Crouse and Chychrun. Crouse has term and has 10 goals on the season already.

Could even get Bo Horvat and Brock B . I am only going off those two because it sounds like these guys want out. You prob coould get Bo and Brock for a 1st, holtz, sevo, Bahl at the deadline. Seems like overpayment for a rental but lets be real. Holtz may or may not be sick, Sevo is a goner....and I love Bahl but someone with value needs to go the other way with Bratt. I just think we have such a log jam at D and its not right to the player too. I honestly think Luke Hughes will be on this team by the end of the year. So we need to make room for him.

Hischer and Horvat as a one two punch is unreal. Lets be real Hughes cannot win us a faceoff, and Haula should not be on his line. I love the way that he plays but Hughes needs a finisher...Bo.

We just cant trade Luke Hughes.......He is Jack just on the backend.

Lets see what we do....I also wouldnt mind if we do nothing and just keep winning. LOL I am legit just happy to be here.
Maybe add a depth guy without touching our roster guys, that would be the important part. Eller -Wash, Schenn-Van. Although a guy like Tanner Jeannot would be nice
During the summer I'd like to see if Fitz could swing a deal for a Morgan Frost type player (philly has no 2nd rnd pick this year, our 2nd with an add?)

Would NSH really deal Jeannot? I’d think the cost would be pretty high.

Does he have the ability to keep up on a line with Jack or his he just middle/bottom6 depth?

Very valid point. I am thinking more robust players. Nash is up there in cap and not losing too much in UFAs. This is where I see him flipping a Foote or similar with adds if need be. Maybe Comtois from Ana?
I know its Philly but Frost would be great on this team, same kind of makeup as Hughes/Bratt. I think Fitz goes against his word and gets a rental like Eller-Wsh and D man like Schenn-Van. Save any big moves (Timo-like) for the summer

I second that this might not be the year to go all in, but then again If the team is hovering around top in the league at the deadline, then maybe we should think about adding? Make a “hockey trade” as Fitz likes to stress.
If at the deadline this team is first in the league still you owe it to the team and fans to add to a need to try and take the next step.

I agree swap bratt for a more natural goal scorer if it comes to it because he doesn’t want to be here or wants too much. We have enough 25-55 players would be nice to have a 40-40

Jacobs was the single person most responsible for the lockout.

Sure, but that hasn't prevented the Bruins from spending lots of money. People called them cheap for nickel and diming Chara, but guess what - he wasn't any good anymore and they were right to walk away, for better or worse.

The Bruins have two buried contracts this year - they are spending over the salary cap this season. They have seldom presented themselves as a cheap franchise.

Not sure where the cap space is coming from to get Kane, the Devils would have to move at least one player on the roster to make that happen, and probably two. It doesn't make sense for any number of reasons.
