I assume one way or another some will make sweeping claims about Blackwood's future based off this one game when the reality is whether he shuts them out or gets blown up won't really tell us much for next season.
I'm at an all time low with him (though not quite nearly to guaranteeing he's toast like I was with Cory by probably 2018-2019), but I don't think him being good these next two games means he'll be good next year or him being bad these next two games means he'll definitely be bad next year.
People get too caught up in small sample sizes. Kind of like the whole ''Well Hammond was a .920% and 4-0-0 with Montreal, but came here and looked worse!'' stuff.
Which is why I'm still slightly skeptical that Kevin Bahl has really turned a corner, although he's been GOOD since this most recent call up (I thought his one game before that was actually good too), but I think it's too soon to say with him, but it's been encouraging.
I'm finally warmed up to Boqvist being an NHL regular, though still cautiously optimistic, but I absolutely think he's done enough that I think he deserves to be on the NHL team to start next year and I even think he's better than some guys we have already penciled in for next year.
