i can't watch the game but reading the comments and twitter seems the devils came out for some payback i'm glad they wanted to send a msg and didn't care when it came. good for them even if it put them in a hole early so what? they dug themselves out of the hole and its a new game. also chill on the markstrom hate sure the first goal was weak and the second goal was a fluke but the guy has given us the average goaltending we expected so far this year. personally i would've gone with allen tonight

Tbf, it's probably still 2-2 if you do that anyway. Let's just hope those A+ saves got his head right. He has a lot of Marty in his game where he'll give up shitters and then make the A+ and be able to rebound a bit from bad goals. Almost was 3-0 on that 2 on 1 he saved

I'm not the one with a "narrative". I have been pretty consistent that the Devils are a good team that has been hurt by goaltending the last few years. This year, their team defense is even better than it has been the past few years.

the Devils are one of the best teams in the league. Coming into the thread to try and have a "gotcha" moment is weird stuff.

Markstrom is not an average goaltender this year. He’s very much below average. Allen on the other hand is above average goaltending.

Do you give Allen more games and give up the second-rounder to the Habs? If Daws doesn't look like a backup next season, they may consider re-signing Allen.

I think it's a really big assumption that Allen could carry a much heavier workload as well.
