Good deal for both parties. Good for Lou, he's figured out that you need to lock up your best players before they reach UFA status. Zajac, Henrique and now Cory.

Excellent news. Happy to have Schneids for the prime of his career. And a fair deal for both sides as well.

Didn't the mainboard tell us our goaltending would suck once Marty is gone?

@TGfireandice: Straight $6 mil salary for all seven seasons of Cory Schneider's contract extension. And it includes a no-trade clause.

@TGfireandice: Lamoriello: "We’re just delighted because we go from one great goaltender to another."

I hope the NHL is "satisfied" with that and the Devils haven't violated the spirit of something again. :sarcasm:

I love how Bettman paused during the boos and said 'I think you're gonna want to hear this'

Cory is NOT Trashcan Rick, okay? Geez.....relax.

Well there's Cam Ward too. But honestly $6 million is pretty much par for the course for most upper echelon goalies, and not on the level of Lundqvist/Rask/Rinne salarywise. If Cory plays at the level he has so far in his career this contract's going to wind up being a steal. There's very little potential downside, or at least not as much likelihood of it as there are in most deals of this length. I mean Cory's gonna be 36 at the end of it, not 41 or some crazy **** like that.

Still can't get over the look on Gillis's face, then how he walks out on his cell fone. Meanwhile Lou is calmly rocking the noble hero look.

To be fair, I think he was trying to call Cory(or maybe his agent) to let him know that he was dealt to NJ. Had nothing to do with him being embarassed or whatever you think is the reason.

Ya but the images still spell the moment out especially with how it seems to be unfolding for both teams.

Lou's poker face seems to have won the day.

Lou would have a poker face when he orders food at a local Dennys.

Very excited for Cory being re-signed. Can't believe it's finally happening.
