Really concerned about Igor. He single handedly kept them in the game for the first 20 minutes when the team in front of him was terrible.

Zibby, like Michelletti said, has lost all of his confidence. If Kaapo comes back next game, I think he should sit a few out and just start trying to piece his game back together in practice. I think Quinn benched him because he was being a defensive liability as well as not getting anything going offensively. That first devils goal was a result of Zib completely losing his check. I thought it was a good move on Quinns part.

Bright sides, obviously Kreider. And the kid with the sick snap shot in the third put a big smile on my face.

Mods!

A good goalie can cover a lot of deficiencies. This game would be a loss. Losing Shesterkin like this is the end to this season in terms of making to playoffs.

Sucks.
Yep this team has to turn into the Leafs now and score 4-5 goals a game.

Zibs watching Laf and Kreider bromance blossom...

On a scale from 1-positively f*cked how bad did Shesty look?

maloney and la greca made it sound like he was dying.

Down for a few minutes, needed two people to help him off the ice, and didn’t put any weight on his one leg, other then that it seemed good.

I think with Mika, he’s blossomed into such a great player the last two years that he’s really struggling now and great players find ways out of it and overcome it if they’re truly great, especially the mental aspect of the game. Igor, Im still so mad that happened. If one of three guys come out of the corner with the puck that never happens. What a shame. Lafreniere is starting to come around. Kreider is red hot. The very few that say Buch sucks don’t know hockey. That’s a wrap.

'when it looked as bad as it did, it's not as bad as it is' - Yogi Berra 2021

Hoping for something light but it did look 'season ending bad'
Looks can be deceiving, I tore my ACL during a game in 2019. Had a knee on knee collision and I got right up and kept playing, hurt a bit. Went to the hospital and they said it was fine, so I kept playing on it. Finally got my MRI last month and it turned out I had a torn ACL the whole time

I had a workmate who was functioning 100% with a torn ACL for a few weeks before she was diagnosed.

. It’s tough see a player if Mika’s caliber completely lose his confidence. I mean it could be an injury or the effects of Covid. But it’s definitely mental. Even in the op that great shot he had he is scared to use it or it never hits the net
The thing with Mika is that he's basically playing worse than he did as a rookie. That's something. I mean I guess it was expected that last year was a career high, but falling off so bad...

I don't buy the COVID-explanation anymore either. Yes, when the season started. Not 2 months after. Something else is going on.

That's what I'm saying... usually when it's a ligament tear, it doesn't look like that.. It looked muscle/nerve related... it was pure agony. Groin/hip area.

Only time it's 'as bad as it looks' is when it's a compound fracture.
