Kakko 2g1a in 13 games Al 0-0-0 in regulation in 14 games and struggling harder and harder as the season progresses. Lias Andersson AWOLs and Vitali Kravtsov deleted all of his Rangers media on his instagram and imo was this close to asking out after being treated so poorly in training camp. That's a 1OA, 2OA, 7OA, and a 9OA in this rebuild. K'andre and Fox both came to the Rangers as complete players from the get go. Aside from hiring your buddies, what does this college coach do for us exactly, Jeff?

“And New Jersey did? With Sharangovich, Merkley, washed up Subban, and on and on. Lame excuse.”

I’m not making excuse for anything.

But looking at the roster we had tonight, especially once Trouba was out, I don’t think there are many coaches who change the flow enough to make this a win.

Okay:

The game is tied and your defense is Bittito, Smith, Hajek and Fox.

Miller is it. Trouba is out.

At forward, Chytil is out and Panarin is out.

Zibanejad might as well be out.

Your most effective forwards include a handful of AAAA players and a kid who just turned 20.

Your best center is Kevin Rooney.

Yours odd of winning the game, despite being tied, aren’t great.

Couple that with veterans who look lost and I think winning would be pretty remarkable.

See opponent. No other response really necessary. Maybe this would have been a valid excuse friday eve but sorry not tonight.

Panarin is vital for this team. He is literally 70% of the teams offense. Noone else is on his level. Different frequency. Quinn doesn't prepare his teams nor has any semblance of structure. Panarin and last year zibs carried this team, it was not coaching. Yet, the brass think Quinn did a great job. He is a clown

With the exception of the Islanders game I was more or less proud of this team this season. Today I'm ashamed to be a fan of this team. f***ing garbage team with a garbage coach. f*** you Quinn, you miserable piece of shit that set this franchise back 10 years.

I’m 90% he also mentioned “bad luck” following this.

He said it may be bad luck. He didn't infer it definitively is. Its an interesting stat to report on. He is always highly analytical compared to some others I see.

He also said, if I recall correctly, that he can be doing better, which I agree with.

Bench Zibanejad and Kreider. These two are supposed to be leaders and the kids can’t watch these two be the example for them. This season is a lost cause, just play the kids. Give them experience and let them learn and make their mistakes along the way. Please dump the dead weight on this team; guys like Howden and Hajek have shown that they are not NHL players (TB sure fleeced us with these two).

This team’s top two centers are playing like dog shit. When both Colin Blackwell and Kevin Rooney are outplaying and out scoring your supposed #1 Elite Centerman then you obviously will not be successful. And what the hell is wrong with Chris Kreider? This guy talks a big game during the press conferences but plays with no urgency, the same predictable plays every game and doesn’t hit when he is supposed to be one of the fastest and strongest guys in the league.

Our kids like Kakko and Lafreniere aren’t scoring because they have to play with garbage centermen. Literally put the two of them with Colin Blackwell for a game or two and they will score. If Panarin is healthy next game:

Panarin-Strome-Buchnevich
Lafreniere-Blackwell-Kakko
Lemieux-Howden-Gauthier
DiGiuseppe-Rooney-Smith (or call up Barron)

My thoughts in no particular order.

I've never seen a Rangers team in my lifetime do so little with more. This iteration of the team is literally the anti Tortorella teams that Tortorella got blood out of stones from. Have to think this is on the coaching, right?

I'm sick of seeing every single offensive chance on Ryan Strome's stick die.

One point in 13 games for our #1 overall prospect. How is the coaching and the front office not alarmed by this? He should sit for a game or two and watch from the press box. They're trying to let him work and play through it. That's not working.

Don't see how Igor could have saved any goal against tonight.

Zibanejad is going to lose the whole year to COVID after effects. He should be playing on the 4th line to focus on doing the little things right. I'd switch him and Rooney, TBH.

He went from a "must extend" to "I'd listen on offers on him" very quickly. Only silver lining is that his next contract got a hell of a lot cheaper if the Rangers elect to keep him.

Kakko is going to break through any game now.

This team really misses Chytil.

Sit AL while Kreider, Mika, and Strome get a pass for losing every puck battle? The Devils are a terrible faceoff team. AL had more faceoff wins than Strome. Ziba could barely put an ounce of effort on the faceoff. Sorry but the guys with the A's on their sweaters have been the biggest culprits of bad turnovers and lackadaisical efforts.

The only players working on this team are 19 and 20 years old, Fox and Lindgren and the career AHLers playing to keep bread on the table. Everyone else with a long term contract is playing like they have cash in the bank.

Trouba played 2 periods and even scored a goal for NJ. Highly doubt the third would have been much different.

Showing up flat and unprepared against a Devils team that had off for 16 days (and some had actual symptoms and felt sick) is unacceptable from the coaching staff of the Rangers

Quinn isnt the answer, though Im aure this has been stated around here plenty
the worst part is we all called it before the game. This team is so predictable.

I'm not looking for wins.

I thought we would be fun bad and score some goals.

Instead we got a bad soccer team where literally everyone but Kakko and Fox was a better player last year.

Hope the honorary Delta Phi membership at NYU was worth it Gorts.
