A couple of hours later and I’m still trying to figure out what the hell I witnessed from the d-men in this game.

That was like a top 3 worst defensive performance I’ve ever seen all time from the team.

Wood has a season ticket on the team, for whatever reason, and he'll walk in the offseason when some moron GM gives him 5x5 beacuse of "grit and intangibles".

I am beyond fed up with him. If' he's the "heart and soul" player of this team, we need a transplant.

I don’t think he’s getting 5x5 anymore. I don’t think he ever was, but $4 million for 3-4 years was a possibility had he continued at the production of his first 20 games or so. At this point I’m not sure he even gets a raise on his salary this year. Maybe now he gets $3.5 million for 2 years, but even $3.5 seems a little high right now. All depends on how he finishes the year.

It’s hard to interpret these scores in relation to our own team’s play however because the elite hockey played in the West is so next level.

Three best teams in the East are in the Atlantic.

Devils have yet to play Lightning, split with the Leafs, and have lost twice to Boston.

Hard to imagine anyone in the Metro other than Carolina winning the Cup.

Dallas, Winnipeg, and Colorado all have shots at winning it all.

The Atlantic clearly have 3 Cup Contenders because who doesn’t see the Leafs winning it all this year.

Can't blame this loss on Blackwood with the way our defensemen played infront of him. Still though 2 or 3 of the five he gave up were certainly ones he had a chance to stop.

The brightside is Jack , Bratt and Hamilton stayed hot. Sharangovich snapped a long goal drought since like December 23rd and Mercer snapped a mini goal drought.

Let's see a bounce back game tomorrow against a good Stars team and head into the break with a win.

That was the worst game from a defense I think we've had by far this season. Like horrifically bad. Hopefully that gets nipped in the bud and is fixed because Dallas is better and losing two into the break isn't ideal.

The defense hasn’t looked good for awhile, but that was the worse I’ve seen them play. They play like that against Dallas and they’ll get blown out. I’m not sure if it’s just missing Marino or we need to add another defenseman besides a forward.

2nd game in ALL of January where we didn’t pick up at least a point. That’s a HIGHLY successful month, even if we lose in regulation tonight. 18 out of a potential 24 points. We’re in a very good spot, with one of the longest breaks.
