It will be sooooooooo awesome if we can somehow win tonight. The amount of dis respect and shit some Oilers fans posted is crazy.
Just one example :

Small but fast team with inconsistent goaltending who’ve had an easy schedule to start. Greg Wyshynski’s favourite team. Crappy fan base. They play in a swamp. Jack Hughes thinks he’s Wayne Gretzky.

I've come around on the idea that Blackwood is here to stay this year unless he becomes completely unplayable. Even then I don't know what they do, goaltending market is so illiquid in-season.

I think it's very likely though they try and upgrade him in the offseason v. extend him, the marriage seems strained.

I hope they upgrade him in the offseason. As I said, Daws is an upgrade next year if he can provide .900% (that's assuming Blackwood can't do any better than that over a whole season) if not for the money factor. If they're both gonna perform the same way, I'd rather pay a guy $1 million than a guy $3 million for the same production, which as I've said is his qualifying offer for next year.

That said, I'm not sure if the marriage is strained. It seems the organization (As much as some fans) still think he has elite upside and really don't wanna give up on the idea that he does. I'm willing to take my chances though. If he don't have a good season this year then he's gotta go. And if he plays well elsewhere? Well, then I'll regret letting him go about as much as I'd regret letting Zacha go if he finally scored 50-60 points in a year.

And I'm actually of the opinion that if he is to resurrect his career, it's gonna probably be somewhere else. I think he needs a change of scenery at best. It doesn't mean he will be better, but I don't see much hope in him getting back to where he was here. And not because the ''Team plays so terribly defensively in front of him'', it's just that sometimes players need a change of scenery. Steve Mason was a lost cause in Columbus after winning the Calder in his rookie year. He was never good there again. They traded for Bobrovsky one offseason and he was having a Vezina season while Mason was still playing his usual Columbus brand of awful (outside of the rookie year) and he goes to Philly and looks good again, at least for a few years.

I get it if someone thinks the Devils franchise has been a joke in the past 10 years, i mean our rebuild has taken 2x the time it should have. Currently worst attendance in the league (Arizona doesnt count).

But when OILERS fans come counting 1st round picks and calling us bums, thats thick

We've been ''advanced stats darlings'' for exactly THREE WEEKS now. Some of these people wanna use that to fuel the narrative that advanced stats are bullshit, while ignoring that we've not been advanced stats darlings (or particularly great numbers for the last decade) for a long time now.

We haven't played in a swamp in just about SIXTEEN YEARS.

I currently live in the burbs equidistant between downtown Morristown and Madison, and it’s Heaven.

I'm in the (long) process of a house search to move back to NJ...

Any positives/negatives to growing up out in Tewksbury/Chester area? It's in our search area (along with Morristown and other towns along the Morris/Essex line) but having a hard time deciding if any potential long commute, should we be forced back into the office, is worth the upside.

Also sounds like I'll be getting married right around you, the Madison Hotel.

Especially considering they got the biggest gift this side of the NHL giving the Pens Crosby in getting McDavid after years of 1OAs. I have no ill will towards a team we see twice a year that plays 2500 miles away, really strange to see Oilers fans hating on us lol.
