So many posters on here must love where the Isles are at with Lou because they loved the 14-15 Devils squad more than our current one. They made that clear many times.

you'd have to let Sevs and Graves walk in that case...which I guess isn't out of the realm of possibility since you will likely have Luke/Nemec next year.
I think that’s what may happen but that doesn’t leave much for depth on the right side . We would have to count on Nemec being able to handle full time NHL duties , which I think he will be able to handle but …. If he can’t or if one of Hamilton Marino or Nemec get hurt , we are screwed. Maybe they sign some insurance depth veteran like a Kulikov type ?

I will say this, if Severson gives us this all year I will 100% extend him and worry about the consequences later. His play has been oustanding this year.
I've thought about this mainly because I really don't care if someone is playing their opposite side, but he's going to get like 6-7, and that's going to be a lot of money tied up between the non elc guys. I don't know what percentage of the cap you typically look to spend on d

Just seeing this now about @RangerDoggo lmao. He was never a fan. True fans stick with their team at the lowest of lows. Its what makes the team being good again special.

Doesnt get lower than that as a sports “fan”. What a Muppet.
Yeah, if it was all a gag and a joke, I would have thought “Okay, whatever” but I clearly remember him making a post last year about not knowing how much longer he can continue to root for this team. And it was actually very serious.

I can understand it if you’re a little kid or something. My family were Rangers fans (they didn’t love hockey though) so I rooted for the Rangers when I was like a really little kid. I can’t even remember what age I became a Devils fan. Probably somewhere between 8 and 10. I know I was already a fan by 88 and that first playoff run/playoff appearance and I was 12 then.

But I can’t take an adult or even a teenager seriously who does that.

I would bet most of us on this forum were alive for at least two of those cup wins and were probably already fans for at least 1-2 of them. Maybe some of our younger posters were not or were just young and hadn’t gotten into the game yet.

My point being that we could have lived through cheering for MUCH worse and much more miserable teams.

I can just barely remember the Islanders last cup. I was much more interested in Mets baseball than watching the NHL playoffs when I was 7 years old (that changed just a few years later).

The Rangers? Psssshhhh. You have to be at least 82 years old to have lived through more than one of their cup wins. And a lot of us here have lived through three cups wins and a lot of got to witness them.

The Flyers haven’t won a cup in my lifetime, but just barely.

I’ve actually seen a couple “fans” of ours move on to cheer other teams. Very random teams at that. I can remember one guy became a Jets fan. He was Canadian, but not even a Manitoban and he switched to the Jets when they got a team back. I also clearly remember one fan jumping ship to the Panthers lol. I won’t @ them, although the Jets guy I remember stopped posting years and years ago, unless he came back again.

Last year top teams typically spent $26- 29 mil on D

he's played so well this year. I would sign him without question if it continues

The whole team has played well. I'm not tying like 7 mil long term into a really good but not great player nearing their 30s when we already have another guy on the right who is better and another who is around as good locked in long term and a top prospect coming up on the right side. The money could be used better elsewhere. If we didn't trade for Marino then it'd be an option. It's not an option now.
