The most surprising part of this game to me was that the Islanders didn’t loosen up and allow the Devils to create offense, the Islanders kept their structure and patience and it didn’t matter.

Last year any team who maintained their structure and composure would eventually turn the game heavily against the Devils.

It’s very nice to see the Devils best an opponent who didn’t give in an try to open up their game in response to the Devils.

The vison of Bratt and Hughes is unlike anything we have had in the past decade. The game tonight is everything this team can be if we can get proper goaltending. They just see things differently from everyone else and it opens up so many options.

Also, Severson has been money this year. I don't think we extend him but damn has he been good.

if they are anywhere in the realm of playoff contention, you keep him. We've had enough draft picks the past few years IMO.

Palat isn’t a driver but he’s a phenomenal compliment to those guys, he’s a smart player and knows exactly how to play off those two.
