His AHL career somehow has been worse than his NHL career so far.

Just wanted to shout out the 2011-12 "Power Kill" Devils. Best penalty killing team in NHL history.

They allowed 27 PPG that year, a league low. They scored 15 shorthanded goals that year to lead the league.

Amazing.

I clearly remember Marty having a 9 save shutout against the Capitals (I think it was the Capitals?) and it was in the season before they drafted Ovechkin.

I think that may have been his fewest saves in a shutout in a regular season game. We all remember the 6 save shutout against the Leafs in the playoffs.

The analytics do reflect the play in this instance though. NJ is dominating the Isles. They skated well and passed well and played defense well.

I'd like to imagine it would depend on the goal.

I don't really care if it's a weak goal. Blackwood is not a good goalie. The sooner people come to terms with that, the better. That being said, the team needs to score goals (and play good defense too, which they have).
