We crucified Marckstrom for giving up a goal against Toronto when the devil scored 1 goal. Allen played well and kept this team in it

And yes, that should have probably been a shutout for Markstrom.

But….Markstrom gets wins (albeit the team has played bulletproof in a lot of them, I’ll give you that, they didn’t do that tonight but they also didn’t do that last night and still won) and Jake the drain gets nothing but L’s for the last 4 starts. And I mean L’s not OTL’s, just L’s.

And Allen only stops 86% of the shots while Markstrom stops well over 90% in that stretch.

Goalie is 0-4-0 with an .861% and 4 GAA in his last 4 starts on a TOP team in the East/league, but isn’t a problem because the team got outplayed. And he wasn’t a problem when he handed Washington the game winner because he was the only reason that game was close before his now customary collapse late.

This is the same Stockholm syndrome that had some people defending the other shit head goalies here over recent years.

Actually, you know what? I tap out. He’s NOT a problem. You know why he’s not a problem? Because we’ve been lucky enough that we’ve only had to suffer through 4 games of him in the last 29 days.

And he hasn’t played more because he isn’t any good.

There’s reasons to be positive. Our top lines were matched completely by Rod and the team played as a whole slow and uninspiring…. And with 18:30 left in the game I thought we might manage to win it. Winning games when you play poorly is a big part of being a winning team.

How many of the games where we went for 4 did Allen wind up playing? I think a bunch!

Honestly took him long enough to publicly call out the refs. Unless I missed it did he say anything after the Blues game? He should've said something there but idk if he didn't because we still got blown out.

I don't see how that's a positive. It's not like they're going to stop doing that in the playoffs. The Canes ability to blanket our stars especially knowing it's a long shot we're going to get any depth scoring is a big problem we're going to have to solve. We also didn't end up managing to win when playing poorly and we never win games playing poorly. Last night was probably one of the closer games we came to winning while playing poorly and even that wasn't a poor game.

He played 3 out of the 4. The san Jose game which isn't on him at all.

Markstrom lost the Blues game which had its own nonsense going on.

The Columbus game where we refused to score until the last few minutes. Then tonight.

Jackets probably the best case for blaming the goalies on any of those. The Sharks one Allen was perfect outside on Sharks shots. Only one that went in was a Timo own goal. Also we played like shit for 2 periods and didn't start playing until the 3rd. St Louis game Markstrom was shit but also shutout and brutal officiating helped to put us in the hole. Jackets game Allen was bad and helped cause them to lose in conjunction with the lack of finish. Tonight you can get on him for the 2nd goal but he was overall good and definitely not why they lost.
