I just HAD to check the Vegas GDT. 61 posts total. 61! Sorry folks, but I'm not buying the alleged strong fanbase out there. Yeah, there are going to be some diehards, but I really do want to see that fanbase dwindle as the suckage takes hold.
They’re all on Reddit, same with the Kraken fans. VGK have an 800 post GDT from tonight’s game over there.

Man that Boqvist goal was a thing of beauty. I love that he not only dangled out Pietrangelo but also shocking both Lehner and Cangi. Seemed like only he and Dano knew what he did!

Pumped for what this kid is doing.
Im still confused what happened there to Lehner

why did he not react? It was almost jaw dropping, like as if his controller disconnected due to low batteries

When you get knocked out by the devils who are on their 7th goalie, missing Jack Hughes, missing half of their top 4. Btw every skater outside of dougie, according to the data, was god awful tonight.

Goaltending. Also the 4th line of Johnsson-McLeod-Bastian all had good numbers.

Min 200 minutes Boqvist is T168th among forwards in 5v5 pts and T191st in 5v5 P/60 in his 29 games since being moved to the 3C. Min 300 minutes since Christmas he's at T134th in 5v5 pts and T125th in 5v5 P/60 in his 42 games. Getting to the point where it's kind of difficult to not be penciling him into the 3C

Happy they could get a win for Hammond and to an extent Kopitar

Though I dont think LA will make much noise, Kopitar is a top-3 player for me today and is nothing but class in every way

Would Mercer be the other option if not Boqvist?

The highlights make it look like we definitely stole one. Somehow got better goaltending than the other team? What sorcery is this?

If you ignore the data showing Bastian was our best skater then sure.

What data are you talking about btw?

4 goals and 6 points in his last 9 games for Boqvist. The number may seem marginal, but him getting double digit goals would make me really happy. He was written off by quite a few people and to see him making the most of his opportunity this year has been a nice development.

This is one of those things where obviously the loss would’ve helped, but then you see how happy they were to win and you start to wonder if good karma is a thing…and hopefully it all works out in the end lol.
Not to talk about that which shall not be talked about in a GDT, but I'm beyond caring about the lottery anymore. As far as I'm concerned we've basically won a lottery 3 times in 4 years between Nico, Jack, and somehow pulling Bratt out of the 6th round (which is about as likely as winning an actual lotto). Winning it again would be nice, but the kids seeing tangible results, even if not all that often this season, in the win column is good for them too.

Yup, totally agree. They need to see results and know what it feels like to win.

The biggest difference was probably poor shooting from Vegas.

Hammond had a solid game but Vegas missed a bunch chances with open net and hit a couple of posts.

Can't help thinking that's the team Lindy would like to see if the choice were his to make.

Been clamoring for that Boqvist line since training camp last year.

What a difference Kevin Bahl makes on the back end.

Interesting, when the forwards commit to defending in their own end suddenly goaltending isn't an issue.

And to be fair, that was as feisty a game as Damon Severson's played in years (possibly ever).

It’s not even so much that at this point although I do think a ten game losing streak of allowing five goals a game to close the season and not being competitive a la our last homestand would have been disasterous. Results and success are more important now than in say, 2015 because your whole roster is filled with guys who are either the future of the team or guys you hope can be a part of it. There aren’t too many guys like PK who you know aren’t long for this world regardless. People somehow refuse to make the connection that it’s important to have better results because of who’s already on the roster. You want kids like Bahl, Zetterlund, etc to do well. You want Nico and Bratt to continue raking. You want…to see something good out of Ty before the end of the year. That kind of leads to better results. People want to get more kids, how about the ones we already have showing something?

Adding loser points in a disaster of a season does very little but screw us out of landing a top notch prospect.

I’ll take Jiricek/Nemec over a couple of meaningless wins that will be forgotten come April 30th.

We’re about to fall in no mans land and outside of Gauthier, I’m not all that excited about anyone in the #6 to #10 range. Here’s hoping we take the big bruising winger if we do move up in the standings.

This mentality is so very lame. Yes, while adding one of the RD prospects would be extremely ideal, I hate the concept of being annoyed with the team pulling off wins. Especially for so many of the young guys that need to learn how to close out games and beat opponents such as the Dallas Stars and the Vegas Golden Knights who are fighting for their playoff lives.

Also, we've learned that you can still win the lottery even if you aren't one of the two worst teams in the league. We've done it twice.

I would much rather see this group take strides in winning games, I don't care how far gone we're out of the race in the standings. Where we end up in the draft order is where we end up. I've never given much thought or care to it until it's decided considering there's no control over it.

Regardless of what they do the rest of the way they are in the lottery.

Winning is always preferable to losing - as is playing the right way.
