They played fine against the Isles from the parts I've seen and I was basically on red alert on them at that time lol. It's 2 meh games. The Isles game was a meh game.

The Devils didn’t look arrogant to me tonight. My problem with this team is too often they have the arrogance that they are.
But Washington lost to NJ, who isn’t good enough, so Washington can’t be good since they lost to a “worse” team.
I think the original point that trying to good teams don’t lose to bad teams is silly and isn’t true. Good teams win more often but bad teams do beat good teams at times.
The Devils didn’t look arrogant to me tonight.
They were working hard but nobody was able to control a puck.
Arrogant, to me, would show up on not going to the boards, not blocking shots, not back checking, the things that are hard work, etc…but they did those things tonight.
maybe they aren't, so what?
They’re 4-4-2 in the last ten. They’ve sucked and are under .500.1 meh game in the last 5. End of the world.
The performance here is worse than the performance on the ice tonight lmao.
Come on people!

I'd honestly argue the 2nd Washington game we lose in OT was 10x worse than the game tonight.I've been pumping Washington's tires all year, that was a good win and OTL point we got from them lol. It's still the idea they don't show up for games against the West/bottom feeders in the East which they should be winning in blowouts like tonight.
It's disappointing in the past 10 years 2x #1, a #2, a #4, #6, #7 (bust), haven't led to better results.
They've proven they have the talent to get to 112 points with an even lesser roster, but mentally they don't have it. They honestly just come off as a team that lacks work ethic. Like a lot of them have their paychecks, make more than most people here will in a lifetime, and that's it.
The doooom posters never show up during a win. Almost only exclusively show up on games going south and Only the negatives and with such exaggeration. Very tiresome around here.
If they package Bratt with Hischier at the deadline maybe they can return a first round pick and a good prospect for the rebuildThe doooom posters never show up during a win. They ‘didn’t have their legs’, didn’t have the jump after they had their 6-0 party on the ice, got dominated early…that tells me they thought they could Harlem Globetrotters their way through this one.The Devils didn’t look arrogant to me tonight.

To be fair one of the ‘doom’ posters was a drive by flamer that’s never been here beforeThe doooom posters never show up during a win. Almost only exclusively show up on games going south and Only the negatives and with such exaggeration. Very tiresome around here.
Yeah I see that a lot and that's kind of unfortunate tbh. Every single things about bad games is nitpicked and overanalyzed, while the good stuff/and wins is/are basically brushed aside and barely mentioned lol.I'm not sure why this still is a narrative. They do show up, they just nitpick some things to downplay the win lol. Been seeing that consistently
I don’t think tonight was awful outside the lack of offensive production. It was a fluke goal that went in and a bad pinch in a desperate situation down 1 with five minutes to go. They almost got a similar bounce that Calgary got a minute before.I'd honestly argue the 2nd Washington game we lose in OT was 10x worse than the game tonight.
Progress is not always linear. I also think it's bullshit to say a team that won 52 games two years ago "doesn't have it mentally". You don't win that much over a long season just coasting on talent alone. It's disappointing in the past 10 years 2x #1, a #2, a #4, #6, #7 (bust), haven't led to better results.

This kind of stuff is pretty normal. Look at the Oilers. How long did it take them to actually start making the playoffs. Took McDavid and even then, they're still meh
Absolutely, fair take.It was one of their best defensive performances but also by far their worst offensively.
